"The service was provided shortly after I purchased the deal and there were no additional charges but they came back and did some additional work for me. The service was fine and they resolved the problem but I ended up getting a larger job done after that. They took pictures of my chimneys and showed me the pictures. They were concerned about the deterioration in one of the chimneys that went to the furnace so they did the service."

I purchased a "repair special" and didn't learn until I had purchased it that the repair service was located in theBronx and the repair was needed in Clifton, NJ.  When the repair service responded, I asked if there was a problem with the service needed in New Jersey and was told no.  It took over 2 weeks to schedule the repair.  When the repair was made, I was not there, but the person who was there called me and told me that there was an additional charge.  I authorized it (I had left a blank check with the person), but stressed that I wanted a copy of the repair bill for my records.  I have made three requests to the repair person, and still have not received it.   My disappointment isn't with the repair that was done, but rather with the difficulty making an appointment and the lack of response for the copy of repair bill.  In the future, if responding to any of Angie's "specials", I will first ascertain the location of the service provider before purchasing it.

"I have a wood-burning fireplace that I don’t use to burn wood. I have an electric insert instead. But the flue would not stay closed. Last winter was very very drafty in my living room. I reached in and tried to fix it myself but did not have the tools or the ability but the gentleman from Fixed and Fair had both. He was here just a short time and did not charge me anything.
