"I was a bit surprised by the final bill. I indicated that the Freon might be low and he quoted me the price per ounce of Freon. I asked him how much of the refrigerant I would I would need. I was by weight and and I just had to go by his word that it took 4 ounces of refrigerant which costed me almost $400. He also recommended me to get sealant injector which cost me another $275. Overall I had to shell out around 675 $ along with the initial for $35 for For maintenance charge strangest list. I expected that I would not be charged for another $35 for maintenance if I payed so much for the actual work. Overall I think it was very expensive job and let’s see if the sealant does its job or not before the gas runs out."

"On Sunday, 6/7/2020, our air conditioner stopped working. We were aware that it was an older unit, so we were not completely shocked that it stopped working. We'd had an issue with the furnace this past winter, so we contacted the same company. The same service person who came out in the fall returned for the service call. He completed his assessment and determined that two replacement parts might address the issue. Upon installing the parts, unfortunately, the unit would not stay on and he determined that we would need a replacement unit. We didn't think to seek any additional opinions on whether or not it could be repaired and resigned ourselves to the fact that we would have to replace the entire system. Because it was such a large purchase, we determined that we would need to comparison shop to ensure we made an informed decision on the replacement. So, we set about obtaining system replacement quotes. I initially reached out to coolray thinking that I was scheduling an estimate consultation for a replacement unit. But to my surprise, yesterday (6/10/2020) Steven Vura arrived at my home and indicated that he was a service technician (not a salesperson or “comfort specialist”). He proceeded to inform me that he would be able to do an assessment of the issue and repair it if possible, but that he would be unable to provide a quote for a new unit, and that someone else would have to come out for that, if needed. I was initially a bit flustered, because at this point, I assumed that a replacement unit was a foregone conclusion. But to my amazement and delight, Steven was able to fix the unit! He discovered that the technician from the other company wired the new parts incorrectly, thus leading to it’s inoperability. Steven diagnosed someone else’s substandard work and successfully made a repair which will LITERALLY save my family thousands of dollars. He is (clearly) extremely knowledgeable and he was also the consummate professional. He was vigilant about observing all safety protocols (mask, coverings for his shoes, social distancing, etc). He was polite, completed the work in a timely manner and was not in any way “overbearing”, too chatty, etc. He also did not attempt to upsell me on anything associated with the repair. He also made a recommendation on a warranty purchase which also saved me additional money as well. I couldn’t be more pleased with the service Steven provided. He did an excellent job and represented the company and their workmanship exceedingly well. He delivered an exemplary level and caliber of service and the total cost of the work was fair and reasonable."

"I selected having my new HVAC (heatpump) system installed by Ragsdale based on the qualified sales consultation, the use of Carrier products made in the USA, and Ragsdale being a local certified family run business. My new unit was installed this morning by two technicians who worked efficiently and who kept me in the loop about the new equipment, thermostat, warranty, and FAQs. They were polite, neat & tidy. Well recommended."

"called several companies on 6/23/2014 , and Moncrief was the first one that could send someone out "as soon as possible in the afternoon". Not an issue since that was the response from every other company.
Technician arrived on time, was very professional and quickly found and fixed the problem.  Unfortunately, I didn't  explicitly tell him to review any repairs with me prior to making them.
I was charged a $95 diagnostic fee and $130 to replace a $15 capacitor.  $225 for 45 minutes of labor and $15 of parts. Overall a good experience, but I would not have agreed to $130 service charge for a capacitor replacement.

Update to Provider response 7/1/2014

***DISCLAIMER***
To anyone reading this review.  I AM qualified to change a capacitor, the average user should not attempt to make any repair with a capacitor or any other device of this type as it can cause serious injury and death when done incorrectly.

I have no complaints with the technician, he was competent and professional and did a great job.

In response to your pricing explanation, that's great. I understand. We all need to do what we need to do to cover the cost of doing business. I don't feel like anything was not a fair or honest price.  I don't feel like it's out of line with the market cost.  Bottom line, I don't care. Your overhead of doing business to stay in business is not my problem.  I agreed to pay $95 for a diagnostic fee to find out what was wrong with the unit. I would not have agreed to an additional $130 to replace a capacitor had I been asked before the work was done. Once the work was done, I paid the bill and I'm not asking for a refund or anything else for many of the reasons you outline.

Had I known it was the blower motor capacitor, I would have gladly accepted absorbing the 90 minutes to drive to one of the Industrial Supply stores in Atlanta that I have an account to purchase a new capacitor the next day because I'm cheap like that. The unit had been out for almost 3 days at that point and the other unit was picking up the slack pretty well.

However, I didn't have to drive anywhere or wait for shipping because I ALREADY HAD THE CAPACITOR. I bought it when I had to replace the capacitor on the outside unit 2 years ago and I wanted one on hand when the inside unit went. I also know it wasn't bad out of the box, because I tested the capacitance and discharge in the store with a Fluke 113 multimeter before I took possession of said box. It was located in a drawer less than 15 feet from your tech. Given the opportunity, that's $34 I didn't need to spend.

I would have most likely taken the chance on making the repair myself, as replacing the capacitor is not one of the more difficult tasks involved.  Make sure the power is off at the breaker, do that special thing that must be done to make capacitors safe, disconnect the leads, remove old capacitor, put in new capacitor, reconnect leads and so on.

While I appreciate the time you spent to write this review and the personal note that I received in the mail, I hope this helps you  understand the reason for my dissatisfaction."

"Original panel had internal arcing at aluminum feed bus-bar. Panel was fire hazard!!! Henry did total panel replacement. ( I have experience in this type of work, as part of my job [retired/disabled] was to oversee x-Ray/CT/MRI system installations) Henry is a knowledgeable and professional worker. He came prepared and "had all his ducks in a row". I watched him for a few minutes and decided he needed no overseeing. I would check in once in a while to see if he needed anything. Each time I would note his progress and mentally applaud. We ended up with a breaker box with a lifetime warranty and $75,000 surge protection warranty."

"I called Mr Parham and he responded very promptly. When he arrived he was very professional. He gave me a very reasonable estimate on the cost to have the compressor replaced. The parts were ordered and installed as promised. I have also used him to have the thermostat replaced in my refrigerator. My washer was leaking water, he also fixed that also. All these were separate house calls, and each time Mr Parham was also professional, and on time and did the work as promised."

"Computer had been acting up for a while but I kept putting off getting it fixed.  After reading all the great reviews, I decided to give N.A.T.S. a call.  So glad I did.   Jim was able to resolve all my problems remotely - no drop off or pick up necessary - so convenient!  I feel like I have a brand new computer, it runs so well and FAST too.  I couldn't be happier and wouldn't hesitate to use his services again.  My only regret is that I didn't call him sooner.

FAQs for central humidifier installation and replacement projects in White, GA

A crawl space dehumidifier is a worthwhile investment, particularly in humid climates or if you've noticed musty odors, mold growth, or wood deterioration. Though costs range from $3,000 to $9,200, this investment helps prevent structural damage that could require far more expensive repairs later. Beyond structural protection, a properly dehumidified crawl space contributes to better overall indoor air quality and may reduce allergens throughout your home. Consider having a professional assessment to determine if your specific situation warrants this investment.

Addressing crawl space moisture effectively often requires a combination of solutions. A complete approach includes encapsulation plus dehumidifier installation. For minor moisture issues, a basic dehumidifier starting at $1,500 may suffice, while severe problems in larger spaces could require systems costing up to $14,000. The most effective moisture control strategy depends on your specific conditions, making a professional assessment valuable for determining the most cost-effective approach for your situation.

For a crawl space measuring 1,500 square feet, you'll need a dehumidifier with a daily capacity of 30 to 50 pints, with unit costs ranging from $150 to $600. Your local climate and existing moisture levels may necessitate adjusting this capacity—homes in particularly humid regions might benefit from higher-capacity units. Professional installers can measure your specific humidity conditions and recommend equipment that is appropriately sized, balancing initial cost with operating efficiency for your unique situation.

Crawl space dehumidifiers add $300 to $500 to your annual electricity expenses when operating continuously. Energy-efficient models reduce this consumption by roughly 15 to 30% compared to standard units. Most contemporary dehumidifiers feature humidity sensors that automatically cycle operation based on current conditions, helping manage energy usage. Proper crawl space encapsulation significantly improves efficiency by creating a controlled environment that requires less dehumidifier runtime, thereby reducing ongoing electricity costs.
