Once the new roof was installed, Eric called and even came by to see if everything was ok. Then recently my son’s house needed a new roof really quick. Eric went over the same day my son called and helped him with the process, gave a quote and within a week or so, my son had a new roof. "Everyone at Solar Shield was very nice and professional. We had a few concerns when the moisture barrier was installed and we still had rain in our bedroom. Frank got it corrected the next day, and finished the roof the following week. The good news: very nice looking roof with no more leaks. The bad news: we got pictures of the hurricane straps installed and had the roof inspected by our insurance company. They found that the hurricane straps installed were not up to their standards and neither was the moisture barrier. They also found multiple slats (we didn’t have decking that covered the whole roof - old house) that were split and compromised during the work, so we were unable to qualify for any insurance discounts. Overall, we have a nice looking roof - top of the line from Solar Shield Industries. Hopefully, it will last a lifetime. But unfortunately, we have some decking remediation that needs to be done and we still need hurricane straps, which will probably be clips now. Not a big enough deal for me to raise a stink. I can retro clips and repair the few decking issues from the attic & under siding. And apparently, the moisture barrier is just not what the insurance company accepts as a “moisture barrier.”"

"My air conditioning has been acting up and I was going to hold off calling someone until after the holidays. Coincidentally I get a sales call from Amtek for a tune up and I ended up making an appointment for my a/c issue. Two days later in walks Willy from Philly and on time. Right out of the gate I had a good feeling about him. He came off as genuine guy that cared about the problem. He told me he got his engineering background as a Seabee and his hvac experience working on submarines and floating hospitals. So after really impressing me he took the time to explain my problem and put it on a 5th grade level which helped me get my head around it. We went over my options I chose which way to go and sent him on his way with a deposit in hand. Thanks to Willy from Philly my first experience with Amtek was really pretty good. The tech's will be here in two days to do the work. I'll see how that goes and either add more comments here or write a new review.

On 12/31 which was two days later as promised Steve (I think that was his name) shows up between 11 & 1 as scheduled. He starts off by telling me what he is here to do and gets right to work. A couple of hours later he comes in and checks the inside temperature on both zones, he went over the repairs one more time, asked me if I thought it was comfortable in the house I gave him to thumbs up and off he went. Not knowing that much about hvac I was told it would take a couple of hours and it did. The best part is that aside from the a/c working great you would not have known that someone tore apart the unit in the garage and put it in a new coil. The area looks just like it did before the work.

Not only is it nice and cool in the house, the larger unit that cools most of the house is once again running as quiet as it was the first day it was installed.

I have only good things to say about Amtek. I hope other then seasonal tuneups never to see these guys again. But if I have another problem I will be sure to call them."

"Well, the first time the replacement was ordered it was the wrong one, which of course, delayed the installation a week. When it was finally installed I had to pay an additional $850 for code upgrades. This I was not informed of by Home Shield. Then we noticed that there was water on the garage floor and found that the pipe coming in from the wall was leaking at the wall so had to call the plumbing company back out to fix it. They first tried to say it was not their fault but since there wasn't a leak before they installed they did fix it. I have used Home Shield a few times before and never had a problem. Some of the companies they use are not the best so you have to research them before you commit. I have found HS service to be good if you do your homework. At the end of the day I was without hot water for almost 3 weeks but it was do to the plumbing company they sent out."

"We had two sun-tunnels (sky lights) in the ceiling which had been poorly flashed by the roofer we had hired to put on a tin roof in 2008.  We had to caulk them every 1-2 years or they leaked terribly when it rained.   Panda tore off the metal panels, put on the new panels (correctly this time) and also installed higher-quality sky lights.  Very professional work.  It is hard to find high-quality roof repair but Panda is very good at what they do.  They were perhaps a little pricey but I suppose you have to pay for good-quality work, especially with roofs.  My insurance company will be happy too, Panda gave me some paperwork to send to them.   I would strongly recommend them for a roofing job.  I hope to contract with them again on other work.  Happy camper!"
