"My experience with Energy Attic USA went really well. They were very good price wise. They did a good job and they’re the only company that I find that would do a reading and barrier that actually use a metallic foil reading barrier that they would put in instead of spray. That’s what I wanted. It’s supposed to be much better. It’s all under insulation."

"Prompt, courteous, and thorough....also able to do the termite inspection which saved about $75....Only negative was the small oil leak from his vehicle onto the driveway....for which he apologized, cleaned it as best he could (it's barely noticeable), and gave me a $15 discount...."

"Jerry Christian provided us with an estimate for all of the above except for the roof at first (at that point we were unaware that the roof needed to be replaced). Jerry came to the house a couple of times to present what his company had to offer. He thoroughly explained how the work is done. He was not pushy at all. He was very patient and made sure that we understood everything that needed to be done. He advised us on certain things such as the color of the sidings and the trim, the type of windows, and showed us some actual samples and referred us to a couple of websites. We elected to go forward with Home Performance Concepts. Their prices are fair. Dealing with Jerry was a very pleasant experience and we felt that we could trust him. We did and we are extremely pleased with the work. We have now a beautiful, energy efficient new house. The contractors took the time to do the job right. It took a little longer than planned but we were fine with that! The job deserves an A+"

"Was one of the nicest guys, explained everything out. Only used them for the inspection as Home Warranty finally called and they sent a repair person out. But helped get two opinions on the system. Would recommend them anytime!

"It was an Angie's List Big Deal that we purchased. They were quite good but they got their information a little mixed up and had to switch it when they actually got here. It went well and the product seems to be doing a good job. We were happy with what was left. They seemed knowledgeable about what they were installing and where it should best be placed in the roof for us to get our money's worth."

"Excellent.  We had a bit of a surprise in terms of attic access that I thought was present but turned out not to be.  Mr. Upton was able to work around that for a reasonable additional charge, taking apart the fan and running wires to a new switch without having attic access.  Despite the unexpected challenge, the end result is exactly what I had hoped for.  Very pleased.

"Rep. checked entire system. He found several wires not connected properly and fixed this. He also made recommendations regarding the attachment of the panels to the rood that would provide more stability and leakproofing. The representative appeared to know what he was doing - much better than others, including the representative who was engaged by the roofer (who replaced our rood due to hail damage) to disconnect/connect the panels."

FAQs for home energy audit projects in Aledo, TX

To prepare for a home energy audit, begin by preparing your space. Clear any obstructions around the attic, basement, ducts, crawl space, appliances, windows, and doors. Gather all your energy bills from the last year and information on home upgrades if you’ve made any changes. If you’ve previously had an audit done, include that information as well.

Finally, be prepared to discuss any questions or concerns you have. If you’ve noticed a rise in your energy bills, hot or cold areas in your home, or unusual sounds from ducts or appliances, make a list to discuss with your auditor.

How often you should get an energy audit depends on the age and condition of your home. New homes with no issues are recommended to get an audit every five years, while older homes should audit every two to three years. If you’ve noticed any changes to your energy bills or other areas of concern, you should get an audit as soon as possible. It’s also a good idea to conduct an audit if you’ve made changes or upgrades to your home, such as installing a new furnace, windows, or doors.

An energy audit takes three to four hours to complete. Your auditor sets up testing equipment, conducts an exhaustive walk‑through inspection, and performs all required evaluations to identify energy loss points. The audit follows a systematic review that includes visual assessments, mechanical tests, and detailed documentation, resulting in a precise report of improvement recommendations.

You can schedule a home energy audit any time of the year—it all depends on what's convenient for you. That said, timing it right can help you tackle issues before they impact your comfort and bills. If you live in a colder climate and want to avoid high heating costs in the winter, getting an audit in the summer allows you to make improvements before the temperature drops. On the contrary, if hot summers are your concern, a spring audit can help you stay cool and save on air conditioning.

To find a qualified home energy auditor, start by searching for local energy auditors with great reviews and recognized certifications like those from the Building Performance Institute (BPI). These credentials ensure they're qualified and can help you qualify for rebates. Don't hesitate to ask about their audit methods and schedule a consultation to see if they're a good fit for your needs. Doing some research upfront helps you get top-notch service and maximize your energy efficiency.

Once you have your energy audit report, it's time to take action. Review the recommendations and prioritize the upgrades that make the most sense for your home and budget. Reach out to experienced pros to get quotes and discuss how they can help. By making these improvements, you'll boost your home's energy efficiency, lower your utility bills, and enjoy a more comfortable living space.
