"Liam spent about 3 hours at our house - he was incredibly thorough and professional! As he worked, he explained what he was doing and what he was measuring. When he was done, he sat down with us and explained what he had found. He also made suggestions about work we could have done to improve our home's energy efficiency. What struck me most was how candid and honest he was. We had been thinking that we may get windows to help save on our energy bills, and this was on the list of possible improvements Liam suggested. But, he explained that even if we replaced ALL of our windows with triple pane Triple-E windows, we would only save about $70/year, making it not very cost effective. At no point was he pushy - everything he talked about was purely for our information and we were free to take or leave his recommendations with no pressure. In fact, no decisions were made the day he did our energy audit - he simply went over the report with us. A couple of days later he sent us the full write up and we contacted him about the work we wanted to have done. Liam also helped us secure financing through the On-Bill Recovery program being offered through NYSRDA and National Grid. So, we are having air sealing done, adding insulation, and having a combination boiler/tankless hot water heater installed with no out-of-pocket costs to us. We are in the process of having our loan approved and then work will begin. If I am able, I will update this review after work is complete. <br /> <br />"

"Wow! Roofers were here at 7 AM and left at 7 PM. New roof done and they cleaned every square inch of driveway, yard and porch. Two gentlemen from the Honduras and one from Mexico. They were the sweetest, most polite and hardworking guys. My roof looks great. Allstate will be installing new gutters in a couple weeks. Highly recommended for price and workmanship. Me and my husband are very happy!"

"Scott did a great job as usual. I use him all the time. He cares about the job he does and it shows. He is not the hurry up and get the job done so I can get to the next customer, contractor. He is not a spray on contractor, nothing gets on walkways or garage doors, which I like, because of the acrylic walkway we have. If you hire him you will not be sorry. We have used him for the last 5 yrs."

"I am currently in the process of remodeling a house and while removing the upstairs walls, fine pebbles began to fall from a crack between the ceiling and wooden beams. To me, I thought it was a squirrel's nest. Later on while having an estimate done for windows, the window man said to be careful because the fine pebbles could be asbestos. Immediately I knew I had to find out for sure. I went to google and searched for asbestos removal in the Syracuse area. I did find one business that had the latest technology to remove the asbestos. I didn't want that and so I searches Angie's list and found Horizon Contracting Co. I called owner Mile Grillo and he answered. I asked him if we could set up an appointment to have the possible asbestos examined. He said would driving through the area later that evening and would stop by and take a look. After a location error we did meet and Mike did examine the fine pebbles. Right away he said that the fine pebbles was an insulating material that was widely used decades ago called vermiculite and that it most likely contained asbestos. Taking a look on the attic he determined that it was all throughout the attic. It was then recommended that it be removed before any more renovations were to be done on the house. Mike told me what the removal process would look like and how much it would cost. He offered his price and then he offered to provide a price that reflected my budget. We agreed on a price and Mike said to contact him if I wanted to move forward. Soon after we met, I contacted Mike and asked if he would accept an AngiesList coupon towards the work. He accepted and I informed him that I was planning to have structural repairs started in the next month. Mike was able to start the work within a couple of weeks and it lasted for a couple of days. Regarding punctuality, on the last day I was to meet Mike's guys at the house to deliver the last payment and the guys were a half hour late. When the work was finished I was very impressed with removal and cleanup. The roof was now exposed and it looked terrific. I did notice however that there was a few places where the vermiculite had not been completely removed. Also, the guys left staples embedded in the stairs from the airlock system. Overall, the job, I was very impressed with and I recommend Horizon Contracting Co. for vermiculite removal. Thanks guys! <br />"

"I just had my house raised almost 3 feet because of past flooding along Lake Ontario. I hired Josh (AB Capital) to foam underneath the house and add insulation in my attic. The morning Josh and his wife Stephanie arrived, my pipes were frozen. They created a temporary barrier for me, set up a propane heater to blast warm air in the temporary enclosure, and thawed my pipes so I would have water. We rescheduled the insulation installation for the next morning, but again, my pipes froze overnight, so he set up something more sophisticated and my pipes quickly thawed. He and Stephanie then went to work in freezing temperatures to do the job I hired them to do, and I couldn't be happier. Last night, my floor was warm, my furnace was able to cycle on and off normally, and my second floor temperature was finally comfortable (not too hot), AND I had water in the morning. I'm so happy they did this job. Josh is incredibly knowledgeable, professional, and quick responding. What a great company!"
