"Olsen Tuckpointing Company did a brilliant job of cleaning & tuckpointing our 91-year-old brick bungalow. We are delighted with the results and highly recommend Olsen if you need any kind of brickwork done. It wasn't a huge job, but with the home being as old as it is, we were concerned about getting it done right. The brick exterior had quite a few old mortar patches and some washed-out sections, and over the years the walls had collected a wide assortment of paint stains, hardware hangers and old screw holes. The textured, tan brick also looked pretty dingy, although we weren't sure how much was the original color and how much might be accumulated dirt. The attached pictures show the after & before of dull brown bricks cleaned to a warm, clean gold. I didn't take closeups of the repairs, but I am impressed by how seamlessly the new work blends in with the older mortar. Everyone was friendly, knowledgeable, prompt, and professional, and I have only good things to say about them all. The estimator was able to come out quickly after the initial contact, he did a comprehensive walk-though, and he provided a clear, reasonable, and detailed estimate in a timely fashion--along with an explanation of the whole process from start to finish, so we would know what to expect. The office staff was great about getting things scheduled and making sure we knew when the crews would be showing up, the crews introduced themselves on arrival, and they were all friendly, careful, and incredibly skilled. We are 100% pleased as can be & will certainly be calling Olsen Tuckpointing when next we need any masonry work performed."

"The estimator, Mirek Duda, measured twice (so his guys would only have to cut once), and the installers arrived on time. They were very professional, taking great pains to make my countertops looked perfect. I had asked for the piece cut out for the sink to use as a cutting board, and the guys at New Stone Design agreed. Unfortunately, they forgot the cutting board, and were short one small backsplash piece (of less than 1 sq. ft.). They agreed to return in "a day or two," but I had to wait more than two weeks and four or five follow-up calls for that to occur. Mirek eventually had a new installer bring the cutting board and the backsplash. He arrived exactly as agreed, so all was forgiven. I am very pleased with my new Quartz countertops. The price was right, and the quality is top notch. I would recommend New Stone Design to all in need of new countertops."

"I was very impressed with the level of professionalism and the ability to answer all my questions with giving me a reasonably priced quote. I did have this company come back to do the work. They were not the cheapest but I am thinking of having them back to fix the other brick work I know I need as well. All and all I have told my family and friends about the work I had done and expect them to call for their chimney and brick work quotes."

"At the time of the estimate, Maria was very relaxed and easy-going.  I immediately liked her just for her personality; she didn't seem to be 'trying too hard,' she was just sincere.  Of the 4 companies who bid on this project, she was the only person who threw out a ball-park budget number at the time of the initial visit. I was surprised by this because I hadn't asked for an estimate, thinking it would take some time to figure out (as the others had told me) and because the number she threw out was much lower than each of the 3 other bids.   One thing that was a little odd was that after about a week, I hadn't heard back from her after the initial visit. When I called to follow up, she seemed to not realize I was waiting on an 'official written bid' but offered to drop one off the following day. When I received her written estimate, she had specific plant choices listed (none of the others did this) and they were all plants that fit what I had told her I like.  This blew me away, because she didn't take a lot of notes and was so laid back when we met, sometimes I wondered if she was listening to me. But I soon realized that she not only listened extremely well, but remembered everything I said - even when I didn't really know what I was talking about myself!  She helped guide the planning process with a light touch that comes from experience, wisdom and true understanding and focus on what her clients want - rather than just on what she likes to do. We checked out her ratings and reviews on Angie's List (all stellar) and even called her over for a second interview to discuss more specifics of our job. Having been burned by a low-bidding contractor before, we learned the hard way that the lowest bid isn't always the best choice in the long run.  We wanted to make sure she wasn't planning on cutting any corners when it came to the quality of the work.  In addition to providing the lowest bid and confirming standard practice for all installations, she also offered better guarantees on her work than any of the others companies.   We literally couldn't find a reason NOT to hire her for the job.  We were anxious to get started and she was able to have her crew at our house by 7:30 the following morning. She showed up with them and a contract in hand. Her crew did all of the demolition and excavation in the rain. As the job progressed, there were necessary breaks because of our extremely rainy weather this month. She had told us that we were looking at 7 solid days of work - but due to the rain and another job she had in front of us, it may take a few weeks.  Because she took advantage of the rainy days to get work done that could be done in the rain, like excavation, this meant that we had to live with a torn up yard for a few weeks. Inconvenient? Sure. But it set us up for the earliest possible completion date because as soon as the sun came out, her crew was here pouring concrete, installing pavers and getting the job done. And that was a big priority for us. Her crew consisted of considerate, efficient and expert craftsmen. The paver work they did on our front walk elicited complements and requests for their number from so many of our neighbors before they had even finished the work.  The paver work in the backyard is even more impressive and they were working with older materials and many obstacles.  It was evident that her workmen took pride in their work and wanted it to look really good when they were finished with it.  They finished the work today - just 2 days after the original finish date, but as we had the rainiest May on record, the completion time was perfectly reasonable. On the rare occasion that there was a problem with the work, she addressed my concerns graciously and made sure that the work was corrected the right way, not the easy way. Throughout the project, Maria was honest, helpful and agreeable and stayed flexible as the project took shape. Overall, we could not be more thrilled with the work done by Lawncare Plus Design. We had a vision drawn on paper. She and her team made that vision a reality. We love our yard. Neighbors we had never met before love our yard, too. We will recommend Lawncare Plus Design to our friends and use them again ourselves without hesitation!  "

"Andy, the owner, came out and carefully assessed the damage and provided me with a very competitive estimate. I had a few other estimates, but I chose Nyberg Exteriors because of: 1). Andy's experience, professionalism and integrity. 2). The excellent rating here on Angie's List 3). Nyberg is a recognized as Professional Installer by CertainTeed (manufacturer of roof materials) Andy's communication throughout the process was exemplary, and I wish all my experiences with contractors went as efficiently. Andy came out to show us a number of samples, and we decided on one that looked good and scheduled the install for a few days later. The work group arrived promptly on the day of the install, and rang the bell to let us know that work was starting. The work crew conducted themselves very professionally throughout the entire install. They worked tirelessly from early morning to late evening to ensure things were done. I never had the impression that things were being rushed. They went out of their way to fix a gutter that was previously damaged by another company, and replaced several sheets of rotting out plywood. A previous mess of tar and shingles near my chimney was fixed and cleaned up by the crew, and it looks great now. The roof vents were replaced, and everything looked just right with the roofing shingles. Clean-up was exceptional. Really the only way I knew they were there was due to a small bit of shingle in the odd place. I was careful to examine the driveway afters, and did not find a single nail laying on the ground. The end result is a fantastic looking roof. I only wish the rest of my house looked as nice as the roof does. I plan to have Andy and his crew back out next year to help with some of those need changes. I understand now why Nyberg is so highly rated, and I am very happy to add my name to the extensive list of satisfied customers."
