Our home was built in 1913 & we knew that it needed a lot of work when we purchased it last February. We needed to completely gut the kitchen & bathroom and start from scratch. My wife and I started to gut the kitchen ourselves & then quickly realized that we were way in over our heads. My wife began to research contractors and decided to join Angie?s List as a way to weed out the bad ones. Bachert Builds got so many good reviews we decided to call them for an estimate. This task seemed very daunting & we are so glad we called a professional!

I was working in Charlotte for the summer & could only come home on Saturdays. Chester was able to accommodate & meet me when my schedule allowed. My wife & I were not living in the house while the remodel was going on but they kept our home very neat & tidy. Throughout the entire process Chester & his crew were very professional, courteous & detail oriented. We never felt pushed or bullied into anything we couldn?t afford or want. Chester kept us on budget even when my wife wanted to splurge. His originally estimate and time frame was spot on!!!

We absolutely loved the designs that Chester & Sherry came up with & are so happy with the end result. The quality of the work itself was amazing! We are so happy & proud of the work Chester & his crew have done & we love to show it off!!!! "Our is 2.5 storey and steep roof. Owner visited and without getting on roof told me that you need to replace 2 flashings. The house is 9 years old and according to him ( I am not sure) it is better to replace flashing after 10-12 years any way. I think flashing should have same about 30 years life of roof. However, I accepted the recommendation as cost was $150. Also, I don't think they inspected or did anything on other side of the roof. He sent Brian in the following week to carry out work. Brian is really hardworking honest guy. He spent about 4 hours on roof to replace flashing and nail down singhles on one side of roof. I was not happy since they didn't even look at other side of roof. Since my $200 +79 was worth their effort of 4 hours I am OK with the service provided. However, I felt that they are giving this deal to generate more business. and chnging of flushing was not necessary. Anyway I was happy with Brian and hence I am giving A other wise I would have given B."

"I purchased an Angie's List deal which included removal of the old tile, installing new backing board, installing and grouting 40 square feet of tile, which covers the cost of tile, grout, & labor.  I knew the tile I wanted wasn't going to be covered and would have to purchase it, but I also had to purchase the grout.  After weeks of leaving messages and emails I was finally contacted to schedule installation.   They did a nice job but did not put down any kind of tarps on the floor or newly installed granite counter top.  It took me three times to mop up the mess from the floor & counters.  Then when I went to have the outlets remounted to sit flush, the electrician couldn't even move the light switch because the tile covered the screw holding in the switch.  ABX did come back out to correct the problem but I felt the entire process to be very unprofessional.  In the end the tiles look great, and they resolved the problems I had but not worth the grief and aggravation."

"AHS is ok. They cover repairs of most everything under the roof of your house. The companies that contract with them are not always the best. You call AHS with the issue, they send a fax to the repair company and give you the contact info. If they don't contact you within 24 hours, you call them. Sometimes they answer, sometimes they don't. When they arrive (usually three days or so later), they service the item. if it has issues within the 90 days, you call AHS again, they are sent out with no charge. If the serviceman decides the unit is unrepairable, AHS will allow you to choose a replacement from their listing (usually not as good as what you have) they will install and remove your old item, or give you wholesale amount to buy and install your own. Prices vary on what you want covered and what you want the copay to be, plus where you live. For me it is 49.99 per month with a 75.00 time of service order. You can have more than one item serviced at the same time under the same fee. If you have a SEAR product the repair guys are great. Not that wild about the other ones they send out. But it is a big savings compared to calling someone on your own. The cost of service is only the 75.00 copay."

"It went very well.  Brian & Sara kept in contact with me to ensure everything was going well, mostly by text which was great and convenient for me.  One crew did the roof and another crew did the soffit & fascia.  I have an old house so there were some areas needing unexpected attention which Brian was quick to point out and ensure it was fixed.  After the roof was complete, we had several days of rain.  At the time of the massive rain storms,  I was not living at the house but when I stopped by I seen the roof windows had leaked water onto the floor, I called Sarah and she sent someone over within an hour of my call.  The roof has not leaked since.  Both crews were professional and friendly.  Once I am able, I hope to have windows put in.  I of course plan to shop Angie's List again and have several estimates, but I have a feeling that I will be sticking with Brian & Sara.  Thank you Atlantic Coastal Enterprises.

They came back to complete a challenging backsplash in just a day as well. I get lots of complements on the work. They also came back to do a gutter repair and some electrical work. I will use him for any future work - excellent find!"
