"Very impressed from start to finish. First a young lady came out to do an inspection, then the consultant came out and showed us the results explained what we could do to make our home more energy efficient, things we could ourselves services they offered how much it was going to cost. The installers were very polite and respectful of our home and did a thorough clean up when they left. Our consultant was and project manager kept us informed of what and when the installation would occur. I would recommend them to anyone whoâ s interested in wanting to have their home more energy efficient"

"The guy who came out was on time and very knowledgeable about the units. He offered to replace my air filters but I just did mine a month or two ago. He cleaned the condensing coils, checked the power to and from the capacitors and checked the freon levels in both units."

"The technician that came out to perform the audit did an excellent job thoroughly evaluating our home while also being very helpful and informative about what he was doing, what it told him, and suggestions for improving our home. Several days later another individual came to present the results of the audit that was performed as well as provide recommendations & quotes for suggested work. I found the data presented from the audit to be very interesting and useful - this is very powerful for informing oneself on the most effective way to improve your home efficiency and I would highly recommend getting a home energy audit to anyone. That said, the individual who came to present the results and proposal was clearly not very up to speed with what had been done & discussed with the technician. He was not aware for example that I had discussed with the technician that our master bedroom was warmer than other rooms and therefore he was going to include a recommendation for additional ventilation in that room to be included in the proposal. This in and of itself wasn't a big deal and was cleared up quickly, but he did not leave hardcopies of the results and proposal with me, instead promising to email the information that night when he got home. I had no issue with this, except that it didn't happen. I had to email him a couple days later asking for the info. A few days after that he provided the proposal spreadsheet and again promised to follow-up with more info, but a couple weeks have passed and I still have not received the actual data from the audit, only the quotes for proposed work. I won't claim to know if this one individual is representative of the entire company, but I am discouraged by the lack of communication and I am also dubious about some of the pricing which seems a bit high. I am strongly considering having another company perform some of the work recommended from the results of the audit - in part just to get a second quote to compare prices as any one should, but mostly due to the poor follow-up after the audit, which does not inspire confidence."

"I highly recommend Western Efficient Energy. I received great pricing and communication with Anthony. You won't need a rebate to afford the service. The price was right without rebate. The insulation provided noticeable comfort in my entire home. I also see a reduction in kWh usage since insulation was installed. Great job by Western Efficient Energy!!"

"Envy Homes was fantastic at every step of the way. From the initial energy consultation, to discussing pricing, completing the work, and re-evaluating energy efficiency after the work was done, Envy was reliable, knowledgable, and highly skilled. We live in a large-ish custom home built in 1979. Envy was great at figuring out unique air-duct and insulation solutions to our home's MANY oddities. It is stunning to me how much less we run our A/C in the Summer, and our heat in the winter. I am on the Simply3 Energy Plan with my utility company, so I try to not run my air from 2-5 pm. Before we had all this work done, I would pre-cool my home prior to 2pm, then set it at a much higher temp. Within 30 minutes, my house temp would hit the upper threshold and intermittently go on and off for the remaining time. NOW--I do the same pre-cool (which is SO much faster now), and my A/C stays off almost the whole 3 hours! It usually makes it until about 4:45! Then it kicks on for a few minutes, and goes back off, maintaining the temperature! Our A/C runs less, we are more comfortable, and our bills are lower. Envy completed this huge amount of work while we were on vacation for a week, and when we got home, they left the place so clean I didn't know anyone had been there; our job included drywall, cutting new vents, adding new ductwork, sealing all ducts, removing old and decaying duct work...it was a messy job and I couldn't even tell. They helped us take advantage of all rebates our utility company offered, making the service much more affordable. I would recommend these guys to anyone looking to improve energy efficiency, keep their house cool, and reduce energy bills."

"Furnace Tune Up went well. Friendly and knowledgeable. Plumber also did a good job with checking and repairs although I found the repairs were expensive. But the fair rating comes from a report on the water softener which I asked him to check because it had not gone on since I returned to my winter home the past few weeks. Plumber said it was broken and I needed a new one. Didn't seem right to me so I had the people who installed it out to check and they said nothing was wrong, just had not run because the water use amount was set too high. I saved my self a very expensive water softener replacements."

"Outstanding!   <br /> Workman arrived right on time and it took him about three days to do everything but he was very thorough and professional.  Everything very well done including clean up.  very professional! <br /> The dust we had been seeing indoors disappeared almost immediately! Our ductwork obviously had many more problems than we were aware of because our electric bills dropped right away and the house is more comfortable. he suggested during summer that we program our thermostats at 75 degrees at 10 am and 80 at noon to precool the house using off peak electricity rates  and that really has worked well. our units do not restart until about 3 pm or later on the hottest days. <br /> he also suggested we replace our single speed pool pump with variable speed pump and we did and it has exceed my expectations. i think we have reduced our pool pump electricity costs by at least $50 a month. <br /> The big bonus of all his work and recommendations is that our electricity bills are down  $200 a month or more from summer months last year. in August 2014 we paid $551 and this year we paid $346.  <br /> In August 2015, the billing days were 1 less than in 2014, but it was 1 degree warmer this month than in 2014;  the amount of electricity we used decreased; the percentage of on-peak use decreased; our demand usage decreased; our average daily cost decreased and our total electricity charges decreased. <br /> We are absolutely delighted with the audit, the recommendations, the work done and the results of reducing our electricity costs and making our house more comfortable and almost dust free. <br />"

FAQs for home energy audit projects in Chandler, AZ

To prepare for a home energy audit, begin by preparing your space. Clear any obstructions around the attic, basement, ducts, crawl space, appliances, windows, and doors. Gather all your energy bills from the last year and information on home upgrades if you’ve made any changes. If you’ve previously had an audit done, include that information as well.

Finally, be prepared to discuss any questions or concerns you have. If you’ve noticed a rise in your energy bills, hot or cold areas in your home, or unusual sounds from ducts or appliances, make a list to discuss with your auditor.

How often you should get an energy audit depends on the age and condition of your home. New homes with no issues are recommended to get an audit every five years, while older homes should audit every two to three years. If you’ve noticed any changes to your energy bills or other areas of concern, you should get an audit as soon as possible. It’s also a good idea to conduct an audit if you’ve made changes or upgrades to your home, such as installing a new furnace, windows, or doors.

An energy audit takes three to four hours to complete. Your auditor sets up testing equipment, conducts an exhaustive walk‑through inspection, and performs all required evaluations to identify energy loss points. The audit follows a systematic review that includes visual assessments, mechanical tests, and detailed documentation, resulting in a precise report of improvement recommendations.

You can schedule a home energy audit any time of the year—it all depends on what's convenient for you. That said, timing it right can help you tackle issues before they impact your comfort and bills. If you live in a colder climate and want to avoid high heating costs in the winter, getting an audit in the summer allows you to make improvements before the temperature drops. On the contrary, if hot summers are your concern, a spring audit can help you stay cool and save on air conditioning.

To find a qualified home energy auditor, start by searching for local energy auditors with great reviews and recognized certifications like those from the Building Performance Institute (BPI). These credentials ensure they're qualified and can help you qualify for rebates. Don't hesitate to ask about their audit methods and schedule a consultation to see if they're a good fit for your needs. Doing some research upfront helps you get top-notch service and maximize your energy efficiency.

Once you have your energy audit report, it's time to take action. Review the recommendations and prioritize the upgrades that make the most sense for your home and budget. Reach out to experienced pros to get quotes and discuss how they can help. By making these improvements, you'll boost your home's energy efficiency, lower your utility bills, and enjoy a more comfortable living space.
