After naval training he graduated from the Connecticut Police Academy and was hired as the Town of Mansfield's first police officer. While working nights as a police officer, Beattie started a small locksmith business during the day. The business soon required full time attention and Beattie decided to open his first store front in 1975. Beattie soon became one of Connecticut's first locksmiths to be certified as a master locksmith by the Associated Locksmiths of America. Since 1972 Professional Lock and Safe has been one of the leading locksmith companies in Connecticut. We are a small, family owned business with a shop atmosphere. Our technicians are out on the road frequently, so we do not keep set store hours. For this reason, we ask that you call in advance if you are stopping by with a lock problem, we wouldn't want to have you stop in if there is no one here to assist you. For the most part, there is someone in the office from 8am to 4pm, but please, still call ahead. Our charge for a scheduled service call starts at $100.00. This charge increases to $150.00 for emergency or same-day-service calls, so if at all possible, please call ahead to schedule.
