"Excellent company. Knew what they were doing from the first visit thru removal and replacement of the windows. Installers were great, explained what they were going to do before they did anything. Cleaned up after themselves."

"He set it up on very short notice, and did an excellent job. He dropped everything he was doing to do it, which I was very appreciative of. We wanted to get this installed before Memorial Day Weekend. He was in and out in less than an hour and a half. He was right on time, and had a good price. He was very responsive, trustworthy, and his communication was very good too."

"Ultimately, I was happy with the results. But there were multiple challenges with the project. We wanted to partially remodel two bathrooms. For bathroom #1, we were replacing the tub/shower; replacing the vanity, mirror, and medicine cabinet; installing new lights and fan; and smoothing a textured ceiling. For bathroom #2, we were replacing a tub (only); replacing the vanity, mirrors, and medicine cabinet; installing new lights and fan; and smoothing a textured ceiling. The bathrooms had to be done in sequence since we needed one working bathroom. The sales process went fine. Contract signed in April. Work started at the end of June. Work was completed in mid October. The materials used were good: We like the vanity, and the countertop (from Granite Direct) is fine. There were three main problems: 1. Scheduling/staffing. I appreciate that the project manager accommodated our schedules. But the company (like many others) is short-handed. So there were many days were someone would be on site for an hour or two, and then not back again for several days. This project should not have taken 3.5 months to complete. (One example of the slowness: It took something like 8 days to install subway tile in one bath area. That was one person, working 3-4 hours per day. And no one else was working on anything else at that time.) 2. Communication. The communication between SemBro and us was good. But the communication among workers was poor. In many cases, we had to tell the workers what they needed to do—project details had not been communicated. There were also issues in which the company had not acquired (or even ordered) the parts we needed, which caused delays. 3. Skill level. This might be the case with many contracting firms, but few of the individual workers were skilled in the tasks they had to perform. We didn't have plumbers or electricians; we had people who generally understood how to hook up a sink or install a light. As a result, there were several problems. For example, the first tub was hooked up incorrectly. And it leaked into a third, downstairs bathroom, ruining the ceiling and walls. SemBro repaired that ceiling and wall (which I appreciate), but I still had to repaint everything, and of course, there were delays and inconveniences as the project now covered a third bathroom. Another example: One team installed the wrong kind of lights in one bathroom. And while doing so, they carved holes in the drywall that were too large. They later tried to "fix" this with calk. I had to remove the caulk, then patch and repaint the ceiling. Later, I will hire an actual electrician to install different lights. Another example: The sink in bathroom #1 leaked after installation. Another example: The sinks in bathroom #2, which had been off for more than a month (because of project delays), clogged and leaked. I called in a plumber and drain un-clogger. (The clog is not strictly SemBro's fault, but if the sink had not been off for a month, it might not have happened.) Toward the end of the project, it seemed like each time a team arrived, one task would be completed and another problem would be created. So, again, happy with the results. But after more than a quarter of a year working on this project, it's difficult to recommend SemBro."

"Fixed wood floors in back and front living rooms from a prior water damage incident. Was able to save good wood from dining room to use in both place. Also had them install all new trim(highly decorative) along entire 1st floor. <br> <br>Very professional and spent the time doing the job right. One guy shaved several pieces of hardwood flooring to get the fit just right in the repair. Cannot even tell the floor was repaired and matches the rest of the floor. :) Decided to have them install T-molding between wood floors and porcelain tile that I had installed from prior hard wood floors that had been damaged. Then had step molding installed to back living room between tile and hardwood. Finally, had them install all new trim on 1st floor. Again spent time and cut and pieced together the trim throughout the rooms. The corners and transition area were completed perfectly and we have decided to have them come back in the near future to complete trim(upstairs) and replace all interior doors. <br> <br>Also like to add that they were the installers several years ago of the 1st floor hardwood floors. Repairs were from water heater leak and not from anything installed wrong.  <br> <br>VERY HAPPY with their work! If you get a chance and you work with Mike on estimate or project ideas, he is very passionate about renovations and have time you should see some of his own renovations he has worked on in his own home. BEAUTIFUL and ELEGANT work! <br> <br>  <br> <br>"

FAQs for bathtub installation and replacement projects in Milledgeville, OH

Most tubs last an average of 20 years, or closer to 10 to 15 if they’re acrylic or fiberglass. If you’re seeing persistent leaks, cracks, stubborn stains, or mold that won’t scrub away, it’s time to start shopping for a replacement. Out-of-date features and visible water damage are other red flags. Swapping the tub now protects your bathroom from bigger (and pricier) repairs down the road.

You should install your tub in a location that complements your bathroom's layout, plumbing connections, and personal preferences. Consider placing it near existing plumbing to minimize installation costs. Many homeowners position their tubs to take advantage of natural light or scenic outdoor views, enhancing relaxation.

Ensure there's sufficient space around the tub for easy access and safety, especially if accessibility is a concern. Ultimately, the ideal spot is where the tub fits seamlessly with your bathroom design and provides the most comfort and convenience for your needs.

Replacing a bathtub takes just one or two days if you hire a pro to handle the job. They'll remove the old tub and install the new one efficiently. If you're considering doing it yourself, be prepared for it to take much longer, possibly up to a month. That's because you'll need to remove the old tub and drywall, install the new tub, repair the walls, and maybe tackle new tiling. Weigh the time commitment against potential cost savings to decide what's best for you.

Converting your tub to a shower transforms your bathroom with a modern and accessible design. The average cost to convert a tub to a shower ranges from $2,000 to $10,500, based on the required plumbing, tiling, and structural modifications. This upgrade maximizes space while boosting functionality and aesthetics in your bathroom.
