"Emerald City Chimney did a great job on rebuilding my brick firebox ( (tear out old firebrick box, then re-build with new firebrick) in my fireplace and in removing old grout & some damaged bricks on the outside of my 80 year old chimney, then they replaced all the old grout and acid washed it all. The job took 4 people two days. After I first called within a week an estimator came out and looked at my chimney, explained what needed to be done & presented a bid. I had a couple others bid as well. I accepted this bid. Once I accepted the bid it took about another month to find a spot in their schedule for the work to be done. They arrived promptly on the scheduled date and got right to work. They were all polite and professional. One mason worked inside the house to re-build the firebox, the others outside. They set up scaffolding & Shielded it with tarps. Removing grout with grinders is very dusty/messy work, so be prepared. They cleaned up well at the end of the job."

pillars  and lights installed
·  Finished with full landscaping including all
plants, trees, bushes, large granite rocks, beach pebbles, and bark.
We made changes to the project as we went along,which Ryan and Joe enthusiastically helped us with. 
They both have a great eye for detail and helped us with all the decisions along the way. 
What really makes them stand out above an A grade? Ryan was in constant
communication with us. He always worked with us, handling our questions with
patience and humor. We absolutely loved working with the entire team. Each
member is thoughtful, punctual, and hardworking.  We really can?t convey the level of
enthusiasm we feel. Every day we step out to our beautiful new yard and smile.

"It is with great pleasure that we offer our review regarding the work that was performed by Jake Stern, Mason and his crew.  Our project began as a ?simple? rebuild of our 30 year old gas fireplaces, two of which involved upgrading the gas
inserts and refacing the original fireplaces and adding hearths and mantels. 
In our investigation, we discovered that one of the fireplaces contained a very large old hybrid wood stove/fireplace system that
required special skills to remove before the new system could safely be put in place.  Our search for a competent skilled mason took us several months of interviews, and we learned very few had knowledge of or expertise with this old system.  We finally found Jake, a third generation mason, who both knew the system and how to safely remove it. 
Jake is a true artisan.   He chose each individual stone, built two new beautiful fireplaces and installed new hearths and mantles.   During the construction, Jake?s team laid out floor covering over our hardwood floors and carpeting and created
the minimum amount of dust in our house.   The results were magnificent and we now realize the whole project was
well worth the effort.
We cannot emphasize how wonderful Jake and his crew were and how well they worked.  Jake and his team take great pride in their work as they well should.  We would recommend them without hesitation for your masonry work and we will definitely use their skills on projects we have identified for the future.

"The rep showed up a little late but it only took him a little over an hour to get the work done. I only called them because it was a new house. He basically scrubbed out the upper flu of both fire places and vacuumed them out. I don't know if it was worth 200 bucks but I don't have any complaints."
