The two technicians who performed the work were very professional and worked hard to overcome some unforeseen installation difficulties. "The technician came, used a vacuum in the fireplace. Fine. I asked for an inspection of the chimney, but he wouldn't climb up to the roof. Instead, he used binoculars. I could have done that myself! And with binoculars, you cannot get a good view of the chimney, flashing, crown. No video inspection, no close up inspection. just binoculars. It was not a real inspection. Then he gave me a quote of $950 to install a cap, PLUS an additional $250 to bring an extra long ladder. Really?? I had another chimney contractor install the cap, and they did the work for 30% of the quote that Master Chimney gave me. I would not hire Master Chimney again."

"I selected Bob's Magic Broom based on feedback from Angie's List. Last month, when my furnace was serviced, the serviceman noted that chimney was not drawing as it should and recommended a cleaning. I checked my records and the last cleaning was in 2000. We have two flues - one for the furnace and one for a fireplace which is almost never used. The sweep (Joe) checked and fireplace and agreed it did not need cleaning, but the furnace flue was very bad and almost blocked. The cleaning took about an hour from beginning to end. The technician was friendly, professional, and knowledgable. I'd highly recommend hiring them right after buying a house, especially if it is new construction. Also, if you have new filters on hand, they will install them for you after they are done. They have transparent pricing, you can pay online in advance, and I received a discount for doing so in April."

"I have been a homeowner since 1991, and this 1961 4BR colonial is home #6. I am an engineer and always leave the homes I've owned - especially the systems - better than I found them. We have made many home improvements, including finishing the basement and expanding the heating system from 1 to 4 zones. The heating system and flue is serviced annually.
