"I am primarily writing this review to relate how Southland Heating and Air responded when we discovered a problem. Once installed, our A/C worked well and we had no problems... around December, after we had been using our heater exclusively (no A/C), I decided to simply run the A/C to test it, blow it out and be sure everything was running well. What I discovered was a BAD smell with the A/C... which we presumed was the dreaded 'dirty sock' syndrome... Needless to say, we were horrified... particularly after spending a lot of money to have AC installed. WELL, I am happy to relate that Southland Heating and Air were VERY responsive, took the time to diagnose the problem and - we feel - went above and beyond to be sure we were satisfied. Ultimately - for whatever reason - our installed HVAC coil was contaminated. Following a few tries at lesser fixes, Southland simply replaced the coil and we were back up and running. Their service guys and technician were highly professional, always on time and truly worked to fix the problem. Since the coil replacement, we have had no problems and we are happy to report that our system runs like a charm. When you are spending a lot of money for this sort of upgrade you truly want to know that your install company stands by their products and work and won't leave you hanging out to dry if and when there is a problem. Southland took care of us and took care of business."

"I had AC Dave preform three jobs for me over the past few years. (1) New ducts a few years ago. (2) Installed a mini-split heat pump in master bedroom this year. (3) Then a few months later I had him remove my old Central AC and replace it with an 18 SEER heat pump and new coil, all the while leaving my old furnace in place as a back up. "We hired Air-Tech to replace all the old ductwork in our home and install a new furnace and A/C unit. They did a great job. Alex Fish was extremely responsive to all of our questions, from start to finish. He was great at explaining all of the options, and the pro's and con's of each, before we signed up. He also stopped by several times during the installation, which lasted 4-5 days. The two technicians who did the work were extremely professional, tidy, polite, etc. They wore face masks at all times and even took a long break one day when we asked them to because we needed silence for an important Zoom meeting. All in all, Air-Tech is a highly professional outfit. While it's only been a few weeks since the installation, everything is working as it should and we are very happy with the outcome. Penguin heating & Air was very quick to respond to my request, fast text reply, sent them pics, they replied with a quote, which was way lower than anyone else on this site, or even our regular guy that we normally use, we scheduled an appointment for the very next day, which was today, he also finished the job the same day! David did a very good job, very professional. Despite a terrible rainy day, he got the job done. When he was done he walked me through with exactly what he did. "They sent me a guy who was probably did plumbing for ten or fifteen years. Heating and Air conditioning, he did about three years. I had the heating and air conditioner for twenty years, and also bought this unit. The price is really high for an air conditioner. $12,500 if you want it down right. $4000 in the attic. It was $16500 investment. He didn't have what I wanted to hear. The gauges to calibrate anything. Nothing needs calibrating and told him the problem with the thermostat, and since he left he just turned it way down, I am trying to get eighty degrees, and keep it normal temperature. He is trying to get seventy eight, seventy five. Certainly its going to pump a little more colder. He didn't give us a reason why that thermostat isn't working right in the afternoon. He didn't have that answer, or the reason that you could adjust it. Can you adjust that? He had no idea of any adjustments of the thermostat. I didn't ask. I wanted to keep it all the same. I don't know, he didn't had the experience in heating and air, but he had the experience in plumbing. He didn't, and what he wanted for $85, its steep for me, when I just paid $16500, and for the attic ventilation system. I thought he would say $50 or $60. I paid him, and I went to Right Choice to do everything, complimentary. Something to help us out. I didn't ask them, but I would hope they would offer. He wasn't knowledgeable, and didn't know the answer. He wanted a $1000, it takes care of maintenance. Like he just came to the house. That is what he wanted to sell me. I gave him an soda pop, and wanted to see what he wanted to sell me.They sent an really knowledgeable installer. The parts are all knew. I would think they would have followed up, but nothing. Maybe that isn't a lot of money. I wrote a $12,250 check to them. Its a lot of money. I would want them to come out and make the air flows correct."
