"I can not share enough about this company and Dmitri! I am beyond impressed with how timely they were from the first phone response to the last detail. I lost my husband 8 years ago. I had no recollection of where he left the key to the safe where our weddings rings were left. Memories and love. Dmitri called me the next day, offered to open the safe, giving me an up front price. Fair. A few moments after our conversation I found the key! I called Dmitri right away to tell him he was beyond happy and thrilled for me. I felt safe with Dmitri from the get go. Up front, honest, friendly and willing to go beyond the distance is rare. I will remember him and recommend/refer to everyone. "

"Abington Locksmith came out to pop out some locks in a new property that I purchased. They were on time to the appointment, efficient, and did an excellent job popping the locks, making keys on site and securing the property. They were very accommodating and explained what they were doing to help set me up for success with the new locks moving forward. Will definitely use them again for future locksmith needs."

FAQs for locksmith service projects in Pembroke, MA

The installation timeframe varies based on door preparation and lock complexity. For doors already prepared with appropriate holes, installation might take 15 to 30 minutes. New installations requiring drilling take one to two hours. First-time DIY installers should allocate additional time to ensure proper alignment and function. Professional locksmiths complete standard installations efficiently due to their specialized tools and experience.

Most residential doors can accommodate deadbolts, but certain door types present challenges. Solid wood and fiberglass doors accept standard deadbolt hardware, while metal doors require specialized drilling equipment. Hollow-core interior doors lack the structural integrity to properly support deadbolts without additional reinforcement. Doors should be at least 1⅜ inches thick to properly house standard deadbolt mechanisms.

Door warranties remain valid when deadbolts are installed according to the manufacturer's guidelines. However, improper installation that damages the door structure might affect warranty coverage.

Before modifying any door under warranty, review the documentation for specific limitations or requirements regarding hardware installation. Some manufacturers provide templates or guidelines for acceptable lock placement to maintain warranty protection.

Rekeying offers a more economical alternative to complete replacement when you need to change access, but the lock mechanism remains in good condition. This process involves reconfiguring the internal pins to work with a new key while retaining the existing hardware. For homeowners with multiple locks, rekeying provides the convenience of using a single key for all entry points while maintaining security.
