"I have used this company twice. I first gave them a call over the summer for an emergency central AC issue. They were able to quickly come out, ID the problem and fix it the same day for a very reasonable price. They did so well that I called them again a couple of weeks ago when I tried to flick my furnace on for the first time and nothing happened. When it rains, it pours, right? Once again, Air Max was able to quickly respond and found a simple sensor problem and the whole visit took less than an hour and cost me under $100. I feel like I would have been out at least a grand calling another company. I TRUST these guys!"

"Edwin was prompt, polite, professional, but best of all extremely knowledgeable. He definitely â knew his stuffâ and didnâ t try to â sellâ me anything that wasnâ t necessary. Very honest and straightforward. Easy going and patient. Would highly recommend and plan to use him for all my HVAC issues going forward."

"Horrible. Paid for annual maintenance contract on four units. Called when one unit wasn’t working and never heard back from them. After many attempts finally talked to office worker and scheduled appointment. I called the morning of the scheduled service to confirm timeframe and was assured they would show. When it was time for them to arrive received a call they had to reschedule. Very rude office support that could care less. Asked several times for the owner to contact me and still has not. Do yourself a favor and find another company."

FAQs for heat pump repair or service projects in Silver Spring, MD

Heat pumps move air to cool or warm your home during different seasons. In cold weather, they extract heat from the outdoors and bring it inside to warm your home. In warm weather, they remove heat from your home to keep it cool. This efficient heat transfer increases indoor comfort, improves energy efficiency, and reduces the need for additional heating systems.

Replacing a heat pump costs between $4,200 and $7,900. The actual cost depends on the type of heat pump. Geothermal models are the most expensive to replace, with the price of the unit plus labor ranging between $6,000 and $20,000. Air source models cost between $4,500 and $8,000 to replace, while the replacement costs for a mini split unit run between $1,300 and $8,000.

The average heat pump is designed to last about 14 years, roughly the same as a central air conditioning system (12 to 15 years). Newer models can last 20 years or more. How long your heat pump lasts depends on how frequently you use it and whether you perform routine maintenance like annual tuneups.
