"Paid in full $1700.00. Door was installed poorly, it didn't latch, lock, or close properly. The hardware didn't like up on the door and there were no security screws. 2nd visit An ex-con responded to fix the door. He decided a 10# sledge would fix it and began to beat on it. This went on for literally 6 months. Phone calls, emails, personnel changes. Finally an installed arrived who was professional, clean. It took him 6 hours to fix all the problems. The now looks and functions perfectly. I love their product, they just need a better installation team."

"Landmark Uses Disreputable Contractors ? AZA Repair & Brenovations HVAC Are the Worst Landmark sent AZA Repair for my refrigerator, and they left it worse than before?still not working, scorch marks from a blowtorch, copper lines sticking out, tools and oil left behind, and no receipt. Then Landmark sent Brenovations HVAC for an AC motor replacement, and that turned into exposed wires, bolts hitting fan blades, missing parts, and complete disregard for safety near my kids? play area. Both companies were unprofessional, negligent, and refused accountability. Landmark?s use of these contractors makes me seriously question the value of having a home warranty at all."

FAQs for locksmith service projects in Tucson, AZ

The installation timeframe varies based on door preparation and lock complexity. For doors already prepared with appropriate holes, installation might take 15 to 30 minutes. New installations requiring drilling take one to two hours. First-time DIY installers should allocate additional time to ensure proper alignment and function. Professional locksmiths complete standard installations efficiently due to their specialized tools and experience.

Most residential doors can accommodate deadbolts, but certain door types present challenges. Solid wood and fiberglass doors accept standard deadbolt hardware, while metal doors require specialized drilling equipment. Hollow-core interior doors lack the structural integrity to properly support deadbolts without additional reinforcement. Doors should be at least 1⅜ inches thick to properly house standard deadbolt mechanisms.

Door warranties remain valid when deadbolts are installed according to the manufacturer's guidelines. However, improper installation that damages the door structure might affect warranty coverage.

Before modifying any door under warranty, review the documentation for specific limitations or requirements regarding hardware installation. Some manufacturers provide templates or guidelines for acceptable lock placement to maintain warranty protection.

Rekeying offers a more economical alternative to complete replacement when you need to change access, but the lock mechanism remains in good condition. This process involves reconfiguring the internal pins to work with a new key while retaining the existing hardware. For homeowners with multiple locks, rekeying provides the convenience of using a single key for all entry points while maintaining security.
