"Aire Serv provided excellent service to a 1st Time Home Buyer! The quote was offered in my budget if I agreed to a one year membership of their service. So WHY NOT! My home is over 40 years old and having them service all my HVAC needs for a year will be worth it. Thank you Aire Serv of Birmingham for sending 2 of your professional teammate's Anh Doan (DC) & Mason Johnson (DC) to provide air duct cleaning for my home."

"After the tune up, it was suggested to replace the furnace capacitor due to the marginal rating. I went ahead and had it done today. But I was puzzled why my new A/C unit was marked poorly for not having a starter assist. It didn’t come with one when it was installed in August 2023."

"I ended up having to replace the older unit. They worked with me to minimize my cost. They were on time, worked hard, communicated with me and cleaned up after themselves. The cost reflected below covers the units replaced, the whole house humidifier, rebuilding some ductwork and adding UV units to control mildew. I highly recommend this company."

"Wehby Heating & Air was prompt, professional, and thorough. Within a day, a company representative was at our house, and we were given a quote within hours. Their quote was nearly $2,000 cheaper than the first company we contacted. The repairs were done in a clean and timely manner. The employees were courteous to my family and my pets. After the repairs were completed and the new unit was installed, I was given thorough instructions on how to use the new unit and wall thermostat, as well as detailed instructions on how to register our new unit online. I would highly recommend this company to anyone; homeowner, small business, or large business, no matter what your heating and AC needs may be. They saved our summer and a lot of money!"

FAQs for central humidifier installation and replacement projects in Vandiver, AL

A crawl space dehumidifier is a worthwhile investment, particularly in humid climates or if you've noticed musty odors, mold growth, or wood deterioration. Though costs range from $3,000 to $9,200, this investment helps prevent structural damage that could require far more expensive repairs later. Beyond structural protection, a properly dehumidified crawl space contributes to better overall indoor air quality and may reduce allergens throughout your home. Consider having a professional assessment to determine if your specific situation warrants this investment.

Addressing crawl space moisture effectively often requires a combination of solutions. A complete approach includes encapsulation plus dehumidifier installation. For minor moisture issues, a basic dehumidifier starting at $1,500 may suffice, while severe problems in larger spaces could require systems costing up to $14,000. The most effective moisture control strategy depends on your specific conditions, making a professional assessment valuable for determining the most cost-effective approach for your situation.

For a crawl space measuring 1,500 square feet, you'll need a dehumidifier with a daily capacity of 30 to 50 pints, with unit costs ranging from $150 to $600. Your local climate and existing moisture levels may necessitate adjusting this capacity—homes in particularly humid regions might benefit from higher-capacity units. Professional installers can measure your specific humidity conditions and recommend equipment that is appropriately sized, balancing initial cost with operating efficiency for your unique situation.

Crawl space dehumidifiers add $300 to $500 to your annual electricity expenses when operating continuously. Energy-efficient models reduce this consumption by roughly 15 to 30% compared to standard units. Most contemporary dehumidifiers feature humidity sensors that automatically cycle operation based on current conditions, helping manage energy usage. Proper crawl space encapsulation significantly improves efficiency by creating a controlled environment that requires less dehumidifier runtime, thereby reducing ongoing electricity costs.
