"Eddie came out and gave an estimate. He was professional and personable and set a date and time for the following week to do the job. Due to other (larger) work obligations, Eddie wasn't able to keep the appointment. However, he sent his son, who was just as professional and personable! The job was completed without any issues. I was impressed (and grateful) that Eddie didn't put me on the back burner and reschedule because it was such a small job. "Out of all the companies I requested a quote from on Angie's list, this is the only company that responded to my request. The contractor arrived on time and took a look at my floor. He told me that it would be hard to find replacement planks because the floor was so old but he would try. I then asked him if he couldn't find replacement could he just move the damaged planks to another part of the floor and he replied "we'll see". After this is basically disappeared for four days with no response on whether or not he was successful or not in finding the replacement planks. After multiple texts, he finally responds with a short message saying "product was discontinued"; yeah, very helpful. I then texted him about my previous question about moving the planks to a different area of the floor, and no response. About an hour later I called him, and he didn't pick up. About a half hour later he calls back asking if anyone called him from my number. I tell him who I was and again asked about moving the planks, this time he tells me he can't do it, because the planks will "fall apart" as soon as he removes them. This is kind of hard to believe because I was able to remove planks from another area of the floor with no problem; but whatever. He then tells me my only option is to replace the entire floor for $5000. Yeah ok; no thanks."

The only problem with Richard is that he is so busy that he still hasn't had time to get on my next project of levelling the floor, installing the heat strips and setting 500 sq ft of 6x36 ceramic tile. He's going to start that next weekend and I'm sure that I will be giving you another review. All joking aside, Richard is very professional. He has very good equipment which says knowledge and success. He priced the job low and still did several extra things that I asked him to do while he was there. He asked for no extra money. Being a business owner myself, I felt that the job was so well done that I increased the total by 30% and still felt that I was underpaying. (Update) First let me say that Richard is an outstanding human being. I would trust him with my wallet. He works very hard to please the Customer. We are doing a complete remodel of our guest house and so far Richard has done the entire bedroom. That includes sheetrock, tile floor, paint and trim. As I stated in the previous review, he did a great job hanging the rock and did it so cheap that I paid him extra. The tile in that bedroom, about 450SqFt., is 6" X 36" on a very unlevel concrete slab. He worked his butt off getting that tile down. It wasn't perfect but I don't think anyone could have done better with that very difficult tile job. So, the sheetrock and tile were very good but then came the painting. The painting was really bad. I think that he got behind his scheduling because of the high difficulty of the tile job and rushed the paint. He chose to spray the walls and there is overspray everywhere. He put down tarps but they mare really for brush and roller work, not sprayers. Paint also shows the flaws in the sheetrock finishing and there were more quite a few. Richard worked diligently trying to fix them. I actually felt sorry for him, paid him and let him get on to his next job. I have another painter coming in to repair the paint job and I am working nights with paint thinner to clean the tile myself. I would still use Richard on some projects now that I know his skill level. I just expected too much from a man that bills himself as a handyman. All that said, if you have any tile job, Richard is as good as any contractor out there. I don't want to cost Richard any work. I own my business and admit that I have high expectations from other self-employed businessmen."
