"I met Robert for an estimate. Robert is a straight shooter, gave a competitive estimate, and no pressure at all. I decided to go with him after another estimate I got was borderline gouging. I was impressed with how efficiently and quickly his crew worked. These guys know what they are doing. Many companies can insulate an attic but Attic Air can also replace attic and bathroom fans. Make sure your soffit though has holes in it to let air into the attic. This was an optional piece for me but the crew chief explained to me the new attic fan that was being installed would burn out if there was not enough air coming in from the soffit for the fans to circulate. I also took advantage to replace two other very old bathroom fans with more powerful Panasonic 100 cfm LED fans to take advantage of the crew being in the attic. My second floor used to be 3 degrees cooler than what the thermostat showed on the first floor, but is now 1 degree or no difference. I am hoping I won't need a separate cooler fan in the summer on the second floor. Didn't need a separate heater for winter at least or shiver unless I brought up the temperature on first floor."

"George came out promptly and did a thorough inspection of the crawlspace and provided options on what can be done. The insulation work was performed by Jesus who also found and fixed two foundation cracks. Encapsulation was done by Juan's team and they all did a great job. They were able to perform all the work with a very narrow opening into the crawlspace and were also able to fit in the dehumidifier. After installation there was a minor issue with the dehumidifier and Craig came right away to fix it. Great experience and I'd definitely use their services in the future if need be."

"It went fairly well. The man in charge of giving estimates gave me confidence. The man in charge of the work was a bit of a fast talker, however. I have waited over a year to finish this review b/c I wanted to wait until I got door into the porch from the house and for cold weather to see how well the insulation works. I do not have a heat vent on the porch. Was hoping the insulation along with a small electric heater would keep it warm. The contractor thought it would be okay without a heating vent. For most part it is, but with very cold weather, the porch gets pretty cold. I may have been hoping for more than was realistic and may eventually get a larger electric heater or get a vent from my furnace if I decide to use the room more regularly."

"I had a hard time contacting this company at first but when they finally responded, the service was great. Chuck met with me and explained what he thought would work best for the crawlspace in our new home. We originally wanted to install drain tile to avoid any possible water seepage in the future but he told us it wasn't necessary. Unlike PermaSeal who tried to sell us everything under their roof! Buyer beware of PermaSeal! Anyway, Chuck offered to provide a payment plan since we couldn't afford it all in one lump sum. We had a few issues at the beginning with things unrelated to them but Chuck was very responsive and advised us regarding some issues with our village permit. Even though we called and e-mailed him several times in one day, he maintained his great customer service. We finally scheduled an appointment and then had to re-schedule which they accommodated. The day they showed up, they came a bit late but Chuck sent a message letting us know. He showed up to check out the installation as well and warn us of the strong smell of the foam to see if we wanted to leave the house. We stayed but the foam smell was very strong for a few weeks and even up to today, we have not used it yet due to the smell. We may not end up using the crawlspace for storage as originally planned because we've noticed there's still a lot of insects getting through there since we left the entrance open for the smell to dissipate. Well, the crawlspace looks good and we are very happy that they installed a light switch by the entrance and a bulb in the middle so we could see the entire space if we want to go in there. We also got excited when Chuck mentioned they would do a radon test to show us the difference with the insulation. This has not been done yet but I hope they still come out and do it. I really enjoyed working with Chuck. He is a great guy and I highly recommend using this company. Stay away from PermaSeal! I say this because they tried to take advantage of us prior to us contacting this company."

"Only time will tell whether the work permanently fixes the cold air problem that caused my burst pipes, but as of today (the day GMS completed the work) I'm thrilled with GMS's responsiveness, professionalism, and work quality.  Pipes in my basement that routinely froze in cold weather due to poor insulation finally gave way and burst last week.  Plumbers had to come out in the middle of the night to replace the pipes, and in doing so they had to cut into the drywall and ceiling in my basement.  So now I had a basement wall and ceiling with large holes in them, and a wet wall just waiting to grow mold.

GMS was actually the second place I called - the first place told me they were booked and wouldn't be able to come out until the end of February.  That obviously was not an option.  Based on the good reviews, I then tried GMS.  Greg, the owner, was great.  He agreed to come out THE NEXT MORNING at 8:00 a.m. to give me an estimate.  He was right on time and was very professional and honest with the scope of work that needed to be done.  He had some great insight into how to do the insulation differently so that the cold air problem would be solved.  All in all, I was left with the impression that he was the right guy for the job.

He got me a written estimate later that morning, and agreed to start work THAT AFTERNOON.

The whole project took 3 days - first day they knocked down the wet wall and removed all the insulation.  The sealed off the area with plastic and blasted a dehumidifier all night.  Day 2 they insulated and did most of the work installing the new wall.  Day 3 they finished off the wall and left the entire area immaculately clean. 

I wasn't home during the actual work, but Greg provided me daily updates as to progress and always answered my calls and emails.

The wall looks better than ever; and there is now a vent built in to help warm air circulate into the space, and the pipes and the whole space behind the wall are well insulated.  As I said at the top, only time will tell whether this permanently solves the frozen pipe problem.

Bottom line is that Greg was extremely responsive and did high quality work at a reasonable price.  I still can't get over that he was able to start the work the day after I first called him.

The process went well.  There were some hiccups in the beginning (the insulation truck wasn't working properly after routine maintenance), but it was fixed within a couple of days and the project was wrapped up.  Chuck, the owner of the company, was in constant contact to update us on timing and to make sure that the work was re-scheduled at a convenient time for us.  Further, he was on site when the work was performed.  Not often do you see an owner of a company being this involved.  The guys that did the work were professional and I really appreciated that they were considerate of our home by putting on booties and making sure to clean up after themselves.  I would highly recommend working with this company. If you have a crawl space, this is a must do!
