"Our bluestone walk was crumbling, and our stacked-stone wall was sagging badly. Both had been poorly installed by a landscaper over 20 years ago. To replace them, we knew we needed a true, professional mason. So happy we found Roy! His pricing was fair and on budget. He accommodated our schedule and met us at the stone yard on a Sunday afternoon to select materials. Initially, we were skeptical of the cost-friendly solution he suggested for the new wall —- genuine stone veneer applied to cinder block. Veneer? That concerned us: Would it look cheap? Roy assured us that we would love it, that this was not thin slices of stone but thick, substantial pieces. He was right. It’s just beautiful. Thanks to the care taken by foreman Joe and his crew, our trees and shrubs survived the demolition and construction. The crew worked efficiently, cleaned up thoroughly, and left us with well-crafted hardscaping that handsomely complements our 1913 bungalow. "Seals well enough to keep out any air from coming down chimney,but because of old one being cut out of metal firebox,some cold air still radiates into fireplace and out into rec room during really cold weather. New damper is spring loaded which makes it difficult for my girlfriend to close. Also they kept cancelling appointments  stating they had emergency calls they had to handle first. Finally came on 4th or 5th appointment. Did show up in scheduled time window, did work in about one hour, and left work area in clean condition. This was the most efficient way to do the repairs because of the way the fireplace was built and to replace everything would have been cost prohibitive plus not feasible because of the stone work on the fireplace which is a hard to find lava rock. Biggest negative was the numerous cancellations."
