"The guy arrived on time ready to do the job. He was very efficient went over with me. The problems that I was having with my door and step-by-step. Show me what he needed to do to fix the power he replaced the parts that needed to be replaced and all of this did not take no more than an hour and a half. I am very happy with his work and I will be calling them out again for future services."

"The technician was prompt and professional. I explained what I wanted and he went right to work. He even readjusted the locks so they open and close much easier. A very nice bonus to the service. I was extremely satisfied."

"Landmark Uses Disreputable Contractors ? AZA Repair & Brenovations HVAC Are the Worst Landmark sent AZA Repair for my refrigerator, and they left it worse than before?still not working, scorch marks from a blowtorch, copper lines sticking out, tools and oil left behind, and no receipt. Then Landmark sent Brenovations HVAC for an AC motor replacement, and that turned into exposed wires, bolts hitting fan blades, missing parts, and complete disregard for safety near my kids? play area. Both companies were unprofessional, negligent, and refused accountability. Landmark?s use of these contractors makes me seriously question the value of having a home warranty at all."

"He came out the same day and was able to open it and help me reset the combination. I had phone calls from Locksmiths and they said they could get me into the safe but I would never be able to use the safe again, so it wasn't hard to go with Gary Smith who not only was able to open it without damaging the safe, yet I'm able to use my same lock. I'm very happy with the outcome and timely response and the price was great also."

"Had them replace all the locks on my new house. The technician they sent out was clean, professional, and knew his stuff. Very impressed because I have actually had a bad experience with another company in the past, who send a guy that spoke no english in an unmarked vehcile, and the tech that Bob's sent blew this other guy out of the park. I had about 12 doors I wanted the hardware swapped on and he was very quick. I bought my own hardware off amazon and he knew exactly how to install it right. The price was very reasonable as well, and they did not charge me a penny more than they quoted! Also a one up from the last time I used a locksmith, who I have now come to learn was probably a scammer. Anyway Bob's is fantastic, I cannot sing them enough praises! Definitely will use again in the future!"

FAQs for locksmith service projects in Midvale, UT

The installation timeframe varies based on door preparation and lock complexity. For doors already prepared with appropriate holes, installation might take 15 to 30 minutes. New installations requiring drilling take one to two hours. First-time DIY installers should allocate additional time to ensure proper alignment and function. Professional locksmiths complete standard installations efficiently due to their specialized tools and experience.

Most residential doors can accommodate deadbolts, but certain door types present challenges. Solid wood and fiberglass doors accept standard deadbolt hardware, while metal doors require specialized drilling equipment. Hollow-core interior doors lack the structural integrity to properly support deadbolts without additional reinforcement. Doors should be at least 1⅜ inches thick to properly house standard deadbolt mechanisms.

Door warranties remain valid when deadbolts are installed according to the manufacturer's guidelines. However, improper installation that damages the door structure might affect warranty coverage.

Before modifying any door under warranty, review the documentation for specific limitations or requirements regarding hardware installation. Some manufacturers provide templates or guidelines for acceptable lock placement to maintain warranty protection.

Rekeying offers a more economical alternative to complete replacement when you need to change access, but the lock mechanism remains in good condition. This process involves reconfiguring the internal pins to work with a new key while retaining the existing hardware. For homeowners with multiple locks, rekeying provides the convenience of using a single key for all entry points while maintaining security.
