"Matt came out in the beginning of the week to inspect our AC. Before we called we heard loud noises when the AC outside came on and that is why we called. Matt inspected our system and explained that our compressor was leaking freon and that it was down 2 lbs. Being that this AC was installed back in 2009 it was using R22 which is outlawed by the government. So in order to get this fixed we would have had to change the compressor which would have cost us around 600-1000. The other bigger issue was that when the builder installed our AC it was not sized for our home. We were very blessed that we were able to use it for 9 years before it went out. We were overworking the unit being that it was trying to cool a 1550 sq ft. home and it was only a 1.5 ton unit. So Matt proposed replacing our unit. We negotiated a great price and we scheduled them to come out on Friday May 24th. Up till now, Matt was on time, very professional and was careful on making sure his shoes were covered before walking in our home. Matt was also knowledgeable and was easy to understand. At the time my parents were visiting and he was very helpful and explained the situation to my parents. They really appreciated that. Now on Friday, Matt and Dan came out and again showing great care for our home and our time. They installed our system quickly and efficiently. After they completed the work, we noticed a huge difference with our system. The house was cooled in no time. We were very happy that we finally had a system that was appropriately sized for our home reducing our cooling time by almost half. I am so happy that we called Matt to do this work. We never felt that we were taken advantaged or that we didn't have control of all the decisions that needed to be made. I recommend Matt and his team."

"This was the year my old klunker (furnace) decided to stop working. Great,just wonderful. So I picked up the phone and made a call to 1st Choice Heating. They had a technician dispatched faster than I expected. The news was not good,I needed a new furnace. I was quickly put on the schedule and my furnace was in before I knew it. "It turned out quite well. We have never had it done so it is difficult for me to know. There was no issue at all. They guy offered to do extra stuff because we didn't have as many ducts as he thought. That's always a nice offer to have. They were there on time and they got done in the specified time.
  We just met with the one worker and he was fine. It took about 3 hours. That was it, I think it might of been shorter. The other thing that was nice about it was, they used an in home unit, so we didn't have to have doors and windows opened. Some duct cleaning, they do it from a truck or something outside the house. With this he got into the basement and took into the basement and operated it from there, so we didn't have to worry about heat escaping the house. He left the area perfectly clean. he cleaned it up. He cleaned the ducts out noticeably. He did what he was supposed to do. He did it well. We was able to go down and see all the junk he got out of the duct, because we have never had them cleaned before. It looked to me that he got a lot of stuff out of them and I had been having allergy problems before and it eased off quite a bit. There was a noticeable impact, which was one of the things that I wanted to see if there was much of a difference or not. Like I said, he got here on time, he did the work, he got out, and he left the place looking as good as it could of, I mean it is a basement after words."

"Excellent service, very fast response to my request for service, picked up laptop, diagnosed issues. Initially thought it was an OS update issue but the hard drive had failed along with other components (including 'CPU). Because other components were involved, a new solid state hard drive was put into a laptop with a working processor - same type CPU as in the failed unit. The laptop was repaired and returned in less than a week. This company picked up and dropped off the laptop (driving from Huntsville, AL (about 60-70 minutes)-- great service in this covid environment. I would recommend this company to my family./friends and will use again."

"The pressure relief valve of the boiler system of the house we recently purchased had been dripping constantly since we moved in, so we thought it best to have the whole system checked out before scheduling a repair. I purchased a seasonal tune-up from an Angie's List special offer ($99) in order to have the entire system looked over, and the owner got back to me within an hour to schedule an appointment, and was able to come out the same day. He arrived about an hour later than the scheduled appointment time, but called around the appointment time to let me know he'd be running late. After performing the tune up, he looked over the system and let me know what was in good condition, and what could use eventual repair, and advised that such tiny leaks don't usually require immediate attention and to put it off until the off-season (two of the on/off valves had tiny drips, and the automatic fill valve wasn't responding to pressure changes very well). He also corrected the boiler's thermostat, which was set to almost 210 by whomever serviced the house before we bought it-- 30 degrees hotter than it should be, which causes problems long-term. He quoted me for the dripping pressure relief valve ($90 for the service call and one hour of labor, around $100 for the valve) that had prompted the appointment, and offered to come back the next day within a 2-hour window. Ran about 15 minutes later than the 2-hour window on the second day. During the job, two of the pipes on the relief valve were corroded beyond being able to be reused (piping was installed in 1938) and he had to run and get new pipes. This stretched the job closer to two hours (including the time he was gone getting the unexpected parts), but I was still only charged for the original hour that he quoted, and the replacement pipes added $15 to the job. He was thorough, explained everything I might need to know to extend the service life of the boiler and system, and was very friendly. Overall good experience-- we plan to return to Faithful Heating for our annual tune-up in future years."
