"The service rep came at the scheduled time.  Like a toothache that goes away when you go to the dentist the dishwasher operated correctly.  The technician inspected the drain valve and seloniod and said that they appeared okay.  He ran the machine through a cycle which operated okay.  The representative was very courteous.  During the test he explained that the timer dial did not normally act up intermittantly and that the drain valve and selonoid appeared to be okay.  Since he did not find anything specific wrong he only charged for the service trip.  He said to keep using the machine and to give him a call if it acted up again. 
The best part of all of his efforts was that he didn't try to sell me parts that I may not need.  The service call was on 12/05/2014 and the machine has been working ever since.
I will definitely call this business again for appliance work in the future.
