"I would like to start with my apologies for the length of this review but I needed to get all of the information down. We have recently purchased a new home. The house did not have a washer and dryer so we needed to make this purchase. When the washer was delivered a leak in the shut-off valves was discovered when the valves were opened. I decided it best to have a plumber take a look and complete the repair on the valves. My wife was home for this repair. I was unable to make the meeting, so she met the plumber. The plumber came in and started with a quote of over $800.00 to replace two leaking shut-off valves. My wife thought that I should talk to the plumber and called me at work. After discussing with the plumber, he stated that the proposed repair was to cut a one foot square in my wall, cut the existing pipes, solder new sections of pipes onto the freshly cut existing ones that had shut-off valves already installed onto the end of them. I explained to him, over the phone, that the process of replacing the shut off valve was to unscrew the old valve from the pipe and screw a new valve onto the old pipe. No soldering was required in this approach and no hole would need to be cut. My solution would only take between 15-30 minutes to complete as to the three hour process he was proposing and should cost less than $300.00 for a plumber to complete. He explained that it was not possible to simply replace the shutoff valves as they were too old (my house was built in the 80s). I had him hand the phone back to my wife and told her that the call was hers as I was done dealing with this guy and ready to tell him to get out of our house. She stated that she would rather have it fixed now and the repair was started. About 30 minutes later, I received another call from my wife stating that the plumber was able to repair just the shut-off valve without cutting the wall. He did this by replacing only the shut-off valves. I asked her if she could see any dripping from the valves when they were opened and she replied that she was unable to verify as the hoses were not attached and that “installing” the washing machine was going to cost $300.00. I told her to hand the phone off to the plumber. I asked him how he was going to verify that his work was completed without screwing the hoses back onto the shutoff valves. He replied that the valves are not leaking and that the water to the house was turned back on. My reply was that the old valves did not leak when they were closed either. We only discovered the leak after the hoses were attached and the valves were opened. I told him that I did not want the washer “installed” but I did want him to check his work by attaching the hoses and opening the valves. I was talking to my wife while this was completed to verify that there were no more issues. She verified that the shut-off valves were not leaking so the payment was processed. When I got home, I took a look to see the finished product and noticed that the plumber screwed the hot lead to the cold supply and vice versa. I also noted that he neglected to replace the housing around the supply lines. It has been four business days since this repair and I have yet to receive a receipt for the work completed and documentation of what I paid. In the last two years I have seen a steady decline in both the level of competence and professionalism of the people they send on-site. They used to be fine, but lately they have problems solving basic plumbing issues and give attitude when you ask a question. We are moving on to another plumber."

"Do not be deceived by this scam. We thought we could trust Home Depot back in 2015 when they offered us a free water test after we bought our first home. Lo and behold it was a LENGTHY sales pitch using psuedo-science that played upon the vulnerable situation we were in at the time (one of us was having frightening chronic health problems that were getting worse by the day.) We were not allowed to have time to think about our decision and were told our water was bad based on a psuedo-scientific magic trick. Could we get back to them tomorrow? No the decision had to be made that day. To the tune of $7,000. Oh but they were throwing in so many freebies for us! Come to find out this system is only worth a few thousand dollars. Fast forward five years and we have to pay HUNDREDS per year to maintain this system. Additionally, all along the customer service of the distributer, Atlantic Water Products (AWP,) has been atrocious. Very unprofessional. We have to call 3 and 4 times to get a call back. We are clearly low priority now that we've bought the system. We moved recently, to a home that is a 2 minute drive from our previous home. Our first appointment to have the water system removed was canceled only hours beforehand. So we had to leave the system and then arrange with the new residents to have it removed by AWP a month later (which was the soonest we could get.) AWP does not allow same day removal and installation. You have to call them again once the system is removed to schedule installation. BUT they don't call you back until you've called 3-4 times. So we weren't able to get a re-installation scheduled for another month. When we finally got them on the phone they told us that since our system had been sitting for over 24 hours we now were advised to pay an additional $700 for new filters... keep in mind removal was $300 and installation will be ANOTHER $300. So we have to pay $1,300 to move this system, $700 of which we have to pay only because they don't allow same day installation!! The unprofessional way the company is run as well as the scammy way the sale went down has really made me question whether this product is even legitimate. A few years back I grilled one of the customer service people repeatedly to find out whether the system filters our lead. All I ever eventually got was a one sentence email saying "yes it filters out lead." No NSF certification, no "this is how it works" etc. Last year when the technician was installing replacement parts I saw that one of the under-sink cartridges had a new label with just SO many psuedo-scientific claims on it- It said it prevents cancer!? The only thing I will say is that the technicians have always seemed professional. But no one told us when we moved our system that it couldn't sit for longer than 24 hours. No one told us about the risk of bacteria. When we called to complain Gus Pfaundler, who runs the service department at AWP told us HE was disappointed with US! For not wanting to be scammed I guess? Please be aware that multiple lawsuits against Rainsoft and Home Depot for this scam have been filed and won. Please be aware there are other products that do the same thing and are cheaper. And don't be naive like we were when we were scared for our health and desperate- if someone tells you you can't take a day or two to think about whether to buy something you have to stop and ask yourself what they are afraid you will discover in 24-48 hours of research."

"DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. My wife called them because we had two showers that were clogged. They initially wanted to charge $1500 to snake two drain lines. After speaking with a manager, they came down to $779 "to earn our business" but then the plumber it took them less than an hour to complete the task. Would not do a time and materials. This level of price gouging should be reported to the better business bureau. There are other companies that will clean your drains for far less. We should have stuck with our normal plumber."
