They said the work would start early February before they can start, which is fine its no rush. But we would appreciate if they could just give us a date. "The entire experience with Josh Dunn and his team went extremely well. I had another contractor over to look at the space, and his estimate was 30k, he really had no good ideas for what to do with the originally awkward layout, and he advised that I should move my two kids (ages 1 and 4) out of the upstairs during the remodel. Josh walked in and immediately envisioned what to do with the space and came in with a lower estimate. He and Mike worked meticulously, controlled dust, and cleaned up every afternoon before they left. They did any and all sawing and tile-cutting outside. My baby took naps in the basement, but both my kids slept at night in their own beds in their rooms, and I never worried about dust. Josh and Mike are polite and professional, keep you informed of the process, and are also very good at what they do. No drywall seam is visible, no tile is crooked, and the paint job is extremely clean. Our remodel was extensive enough that we needed city (Richmond Heights) permits, and that required that separate electricians and plumbers do that work and that everything (electrical, plumbing, building) be inspected two times. All of that slowed things down, but Josh and Mike communicated so well and kept everything so neat that I had no complaints. They also subcontracted out to workers who were as nice and professional as they are. I will have Dunn Home Improvements do any home remodeling project, large or small, that arises in the future."

"AHS is ok. They cover repairs of most everything under the roof of your house. The companies that contract with them are not always the best. You call AHS with the issue, they send a fax to the repair company and give you the contact info. If they don't contact you within 24 hours, you call them. Sometimes they answer, sometimes they don't. When they arrive (usually three days or so later), they service the item. if it has issues within the 90 days, you call AHS again, they are sent out with no charge. If the serviceman decides the unit is unrepairable, AHS will allow you to choose a replacement from their listing (usually not as good as what you have) they will install and remove your old item, or give you wholesale amount to buy and install your own. Prices vary on what you want covered and what you want the copay to be, plus where you live. For me it is 49.99 per month with a 75.00 time of service order. You can have more than one item serviced at the same time under the same fee. If you have a SEAR product the repair guys are great. Not that wild about the other ones they send out. But it is a big savings compared to calling someone on your own. The cost of service is only the 75.00 copay."

"We are very pleased - the bathroom looks great! Workers were always professional, helpful, courteous, friendly. Always sought our input. Did extras, like rerouting air duct so we could have our recessed medicine cabinets. Included plumbing, electrical, framing, relocated window (outdoor siding redone), widening outer wall for increased insulation for pipes. Fixed access hole in basement ceiling and installed water shut off valve to bathroom. Installed extra electrical outlet for wife's hair dryer and a backsplash. Even fixed a hole in wall of another bathroom and rehung towel bar as a courtesy. Highly recommend."

I'm confident we were challenging to work with given the circumstances, but he never made us feel that way. He took our concerns seriously and talked us through a variety of options to find something that worked for us. He was kind, responsive, and moved quickly to keep us on schedule. When we had notes or changes, he was quick to address them. There were a few aspects of the finish that weren't as polished as we hoped, but overall he was great to work with. The project was completed on time, and we were grateful to have his help during such a stressful moment."

"He came to my house, but never actually delivered the design. He asked for 2-3 wks. I gave him about 4 wks. I tried to contact him to follow up, but I did not hear from him. I have received a refund from Angie's List. He told me they were doing (maybe paving?) when we first met, and he's trying to do landscape design? It was only $39. When I first contacted the rating was A, and it was B when I last looked. Maybe it's a case of trying to do too much, or needing to narrow the scope of work. You can know/do a little about everything, or something about a little....not both."
