For example, this year they did a complete roof replacement which included replacement of 100 lineal feet of fascia boards. We expected with that amount of board replacement to have a fair amount of stucco patching, but they removed the boards so cleanly that there was only one very small spot that had to be patched. They primed and painted all 6 sides of each newly installed board prior to installation to prevent future rot. The old underlayment was completely removed so that the roof diaphragm could be thoroughly inspected and all areas repaired before installing new double layers of underlayment. There's nothing better than feeling confident that the very bottom foundation layers of your new roof are sound and secure from the start. They use premium caulk and pay a lot of attention to make sure all the joints and gaps are caulked for a tight installation. When an unexpected windstorm developed during construction, Chris returned on a Sunday to ensure that the roof-in-progress was secure for the storm. Every project they've ever done has always been with the same attention to detail using the best materials and craftsmanship. Over the years they have established an excellent track record and we feel they are the best in town for roofing. There may be a wait to schedule with them, but they are definitely worth the wait."

I called Tru-Block Masonry because they seemed to have plenty of positive reviews across the various web-sites and he checked out fine with the San Diego BBB and the CSLB. He spent close to an hour with me and explained exactly how the job would be accomplished and made several recommendations. "After Alex the owner read my review and comments he actually called me and came to our home and gave us a check for the overcharge!  He was super nice and explained we were charged twice on an item which I believed was the case too.  He did an inspection and said our fireplace was good.  He did mention a crack in the sealer on roof which first person did not but said because we had a stainless steel liner we were fine. He is resending invoice with comments and pictures and I feel much better about this company then I did before."

"It was great. Tom and Tyler showed up on time and explained a few things to me and got right to work. They were very friendly and the service was at a great price. They were thorough and very neat, no mess was made, they even layed down moving blankets on my wood floor to ensure no mess. I had good news because I had no cracks in my chimney. They cleaned the chimney installed a new spark arrester and fixed my damper all within one hour. Tom gave me some tips on how to heat up my fireplace before I put wood in as well as how often I should have my chimney cleaned. I will absolutely hire this company again and I will recommend them to others."

"It was kind of hard to get on Jim's schedule but it was worth the wait. Jim's crew showed up before 7:30am and patiently waited until we were ready for them to start work. We left for work and returned around 4:30pm. If Jim hadn't been there when we returned I would swear the work had been done by fireplace faeries. It was as if they were never there except the firebox and chimney lining had been completely replaced. Jim even touched up some of the antique tile on the fireplace face that had cracked over time. It's not perfect but I don't think it could be done better and he didn't even charge us for it. Jim is a fountain of information when it comes to old houses and fireplaces. He was able to date our house to the mid-1910's just by looking at the fireplace tile. He was able to give us a complete history of the manufacturer of the tile as well as the firebrick used to build the firebox. If you like old houses, you can spend a lot of time talking to Jim about them and San Diego history. We're still waiting for the concrete from the thermal pour to cure so we haven't used the fireplace yet but we're extremely happy with the work performed by Jim and his crew. Out of all of the work we've had done on the house it is perhaps the best execution and the best value."
