We wouldn't haven known the difference but they told us our chimney didn't need cleaning so we were only charged the $85 inspection fee. Even during the busy holiday season they took time to show us how to use the gas starters on each of two fireplaces and let us practice. We were able to safely use the fireplace for Christmas. Olde Towne Chimney replaced the crown with poured concrete, removed mortar from a previously botched repair and re-tucked with new mortar, and sealed the chimney with a 10 year sealer. Another company said it would take three weeks, and it would probably be cheaper to build all new brick walls. Kurtis finished the job in about five days because he would work from nine am to six pm or so, and then his business partner would work from six pm to about 2 am. When the job was done, he came back and cleaned up his mess, and wouldn't take payment until he was totally done."
