"Technician arrived on time and immediately went to work. He determined that the grill was basically in good shape other than need for replacement of some burner lighting mechanisms. Due to the age he suggested simply lighting the burners as needed rather than trying to replace them. He cleaned the burners and controls."

"A Century Chimney camera inspection of the chimney in our 90-plus year old house revealed badly deteriorated flue tiles. The damage -- which made our fireplace too hazardous to use -- was beyond ordinary repair and required the installation of a stainless steel liner. Century installed the liner, insulating it with Thermix; parged the smoke chamber; installed a new damper and crown; and performed all the necessary grinding and tuckpointing of the masonry. The chimney is tall (about 27 feet) and the liner job was challenging. Owner Gary Spolar was onsite for the daylong job. He and his team really know their stuff. In addition to being experts, they were also punctual, responsive, friendly, and thoroughly professional. Plus they left the site clean, inside the house and out. The work was done in September 2018. We've used the fireplace multiple times since then and it works perfectly."

The stones for the front wall of our house were carefully removed and necessary work conducted before replacing stone with new mortar. End result is beautiful. We also used Koontz to replace front stone steps with surrounding brick walls. Here too, they first took care and attention to fix the very important foundational problems. "While rebuilding our porch, Ron discovered there really was a problem.  The original stone on the front of the house had been installed after the porch was built.  So if he removed the porch, the stone on the front of the house could have fallen off. Luckily Ron is a very experienced mason.  He came up with a work around, got it approved by the city and we have a front porch that will probably outlast the house.  He was able to match the original brick and did a very nice job in cleaning up.  Overall it was a great job.  We are very pleased with the outcome. <br />"

"Excellent! I called Thompson's Masonry for an estimate on chimney work. Bob came out within 45 minutes of the phone call and determined that we needed some repairs on our chimney, not a complete rebuild as had been told to us by other companies that had come out (rebuild prices ranging from $1500 to over $4000!). He also pointed out some tuckpointing that needed done on other brick on our house. He said he could do the work the next day. The price and timing were perfect, so we hired him. He showed up the next morning when he said he would (he was even a little early...bonus points!) and worked all day. He communicated with me throughout the day re: the progress. He was always courteous, respectful, and just a nice guy! The whole process was a positive one. The finished chimney and tuckpointing look great! "A very fair estimate was completed within 36 hours of contractor's first contact with me. Due to the chimney being fully operational and the fact that it was a very small job (2-3 hours), I was advised there could be up to a 3-4 week wait for the guys to have free time from larger/prior commitments. The Chimney & Masonry Co. artistically completed the work matching the existing mortar color/texture/tooling with only 12 day wait!!! They also secured some loose flashing at no extra charge.
