"We decided to remove a set of old concrete steps leading to a back patio.  Once that job was finished by another contractor, we found to our surprise that there was a good size hole in the brick veneer behind where the steps used to be.  Not only did we need the hole plugged but we needed to match the bricks in our 40 year old home.
After interviewing several brick contractors, we settled on BA Klaene and Son.  Jeremy Klaene provided us with a reasonable quote and was able to secure an almost exact match to our existing bricks.  In addition, he is an excellent communicator and kept us in the loop during the entire process.  Once a date was scheduled for the repairs, his crews showed up on time and provided a very skilled and professional repair to our wall.  It's almost impossible to tell where the repair was made.  We are very pleased with everything the Klaene crew provided and will recommend them without equivocation.

"DadsTasks came out for an estimate for all the work described.  The time they quoted to do the work was in excess of 8 hours labor.  I called to get clarification on what needed to be done that drove the time higher...was told the wall would have a piece cut out and replaced with drywall to fix the hole, the tiles would need similar repair to get any wet drywall out since that probably drove the reason they fell, the stair rail would need pieces of wood affixed to the wall to secure it in place the right way.

All was good...that made sense to me.  I mentioned I would buy the $499 for 8 hours of work coupon from Angies List and they could try to get all they could done in the 8 hours of work, if something was not completed in time I would pay for the extra hour(s).

The coupon was for either 1 person for 8 hours or 2 persons for 4 hours.  Again all was good.

Arrived on time and were very professional and polite....and work began.

Shortly into the work though I noticed that one of the workmen was following the other around the first was teaching him how to repair the wall and do tile work and cut out the door jam piece.  That was all this 2nd person did was watch the first person and help clean up.  I kept thinking I was missing something but every time I would check the 2nd person was just standing and watching.

The work was not done in the manner as described either....it seems it was done to fit into the 4 hours they and established for themselves (keep in mind I paid for 2 persons to work at 4 hours each).  The hole was patched with a screen and plaster, the tiles were just re-glued back onto the drywall, the stair rail they just used extra long drywall screws to secure it.  Only the door jam was fixed how it was described to me.  Essentially all the work was done at a lower level to make it fit in the 4 hours...keep in mind I was told this would take over 8 hours and my coupon might not even cover the time it would take for the job. 

I paid for 2 workers for 4 hours each for a total of 8 hours and received one worker for 4 hours and I paid for the 2nd person to be trained.

In my mind...I'm owed 4 more hours of work or half my money back.

I emailed the company and was told the owners would contact me....waited 4 days and emailed them that I had not been contacted.  They said they had been on vacation and would get back to me quickly.....to this date have not been contacted.

"My house 80 year old house is 1/2 brick and 1/2 stucco. When I noticed some water damage on one of my interior walls, I took a good look at the exterior of the house and realized that I had a lot of mortar that had eroded over the years and a section of stucco under a second floor  window which had cracked and pulled away from the house.
Grover came out to inspect the house and determine which sections of brick would need to be repaired. I really appreciate that he didn't just address the area of the house that was leaking. He went a step further and found every spot around the exterior where the mortar was breaking down. I'm sure that some people would have either ignored this step, or told me that they would have to tuck point the entire house which would have cost me a lot of money. Instead, I got every trouble spot on my house repaired and no unnecessary work done.
The stucco that he repaired looks amazing. He matched the original texture exactly. On top of all this, the price was very reasonable. I don't feel like I could have gotten a better deal for the work done.
