"We bought our house in 2014 and brought in the Chimney Chap to do a routine cleaning in 2015, having never used our fireplace before. We knew that it was questionable and wanted to have it looked at before using it. As it turned out, the previous owners had painted the chimney to hide loose bricks and it was definitely not safe for use. Within a couple of days, we had a full estimate of the work that would need to be done - demolishing the chimney to the roof line and rebuilding. The earliest they could fit us in was the spring since we had our chimney cleaned in the late fall. We scheduled them for three days in June. The office was very easy to work with and our chimney looks great, they even built it up a bit higher than code. He also repointed some bricks around the firebox in the kitchen. The crew were very polite and worked so hard during a very hot spell. Was able to dismantle the Morso insert in our fireplace with little to no difficulty, and determine that having the 2nd flue cleaned was likely worth the money. And after seeing what came out of the cleaning process, there was no doubt he was right.
