"The company rapidly responded to the service request and booked an appointment with me in a timely fashion. Technician, John, arrived on time and did call 20-30 minutes prior to arrival. He was polite, profession and respected the property. Quickly diagnosed the issue and provided me with several options after showing me and explaining the issue with the fireplace. Fortunately the parts were in his truck and he was able to quickly effect a repair. Everything was cleaned up and he even cleaned the fireplace glass insert (this is a natural gas fireplace). I am very pleased with this company's professionalism from start to finish. I will be keeping them on file should another issue arise. Thank you Chimney Experts for your assistance!!"

"Did two fact finding visits. After the second visit a promised email didn't appear, but a phone call got everything moving again. All the stoves Wooden Sun sells are high quality, and the price reflects the quality. The installation by Dwayne and Cindy was clean, quiet, competent, and efficient. Definitely recommend."

"Fantastic! Joe and his crew worked tirelessly and professionally to replace two large decks on our house. The finished product looks great and was done ahead of schedule. Joe is a great communicator and comes out to make sure the site is setup right, his materials are organized correctly and that everything runs smoothly. Highly recommended!"

"Doug showed up promptly at the appointed time. He inspected the chimney and cleaned it thoroughly using brushes working up the chimney, including the damper area and the back of the firebox. All the mess was contained to the fireplace and he was careful not to mess up the rest of the room. Doug was personable and professional. I would use his business again and I highly recommend him. The price was exactly as quoted when I made the appointment."

"Reputable contractor who did quality work.    Joe Condo, owner, was onsite leading the work everyday.    <br /> I found Pyramid via internet search looking for chimney repair contractors in the area.  After a few days of phone tag, Joe came out for a site visit to inspect the chimneys and give a quote for repairs.   We have a 100 yr old Victorian house with two original construction chimneys.   The mortar on both chimneys above the roof was crumbling, with one chimney held together by chicken-wire installed by the previous house owner.   Work scope involved rebuilding both chimneys from just below the roof line up.  Joe appeared very knowledgeable and experienced during his inspection.   The quote was received within a week of Joe's initial visit.    Due to other scheduled work, it was 6 weeks (late Oct) until Pyramid could come out to begin the work. <br /> Total construction took 2 weeks, from scaffold erection to final dismantle.    Joe and Dennis (helper) were very courteous and careful about trying to protect the property and roof from damage due to the construction.     First day was to erect the scaffold and lay pads and boards across the roofline around the chimneys.  2nd day was dismantle of 1st chimney, lowering old bricks and mortar to the ground via buckets and with tarps spread across the attic to catch debris.   3rd day was dismantle of the 2nd chimney to just below the roofline. <br /> Note:   With chimney's below the roofline, our furnace (which vents thru one chimney) had to be turned off until the chimney could be rebuilt above the roofline.   Outdoor temps during construction time (late Oct/early Nov) dipped to 30 degrees, with indoor temps in the 50's without heaters.   Joe offered to provide indoor heaters if needed - - - but the topic of living without heat was not discussed during the original job scoping.     Something to consider when scheduling work in cold months.   We ended up living more than a week without regular heat in the house.    Might consider scheduling work during warmer months. <br /> Day 5 was taken up with delivering the new bricks to the site.  Day 6 and 7 involved rebuilding chimney one, Day 8 and 9 for rebuilding chimney two.    A couple days were then lost waiting on the roofer to come install flashing around the new chimneys, as well as for fabrication of new chimney caps.    The next work day involved installing the chimney caps, installing flashing around both chimneys, and beginning clean-up.   The last day was spent tearing down the scaffolding and cleaning up.    They left the property in the same condition they found it, good final cleanup. <br /> Overall, Pyramid did a good job.   New chimneys look good, much better than the old with crumbling mortar and bricks.    Joe did a good job of communicating work status and his plans for the next few days.    Their work quality looks good, but only time will tell as to whether the flashing holds up to a heavy rain.    I chose to let Joe provide the roofer as a subcontractor rather than my trying to coordinate a local independent roof contractor to work with Pyramid - - - some delays, but worked OK. <br /> Total cost seemed a little pricey, but hard to compare since there are not many chimney contractors in the local area.    Pyramid is located about 60 miles from our house, so there was a significant commute for Joe and co everyday.   But onsite work hours were consistently 8:30 am until 4:30 pm. <br /> In summary - - - Good, knowledgeable experienced contractor that I would recommend for quality chimney repair. <br />"

"Everything went excellent. I was extremely pleased with Dave and Juan and how they got everything completed, especially considering the complexity of my windows. The windows in my house are sadly very unique where the mullions are mounted to the interior of the window frame unlike common windows where the mullions are in-between the glass panes. Dave and Juan quickly discovered how to properly remove the frame to get the windows cleaned properly. I don't think another contractor would have made the effort or would have been able to figure out these unique window. The added step to the process was unfortunate, but I was extremely happy they discovered how the get it done correctly. In the process of cleaning the windows they also cleaned out my gutters, and repaired some rotten wood. It's a large house and the whole job took about 1.5 days because there were a lot of windows to clean. I can easily recommend that anyone considering doing business with Dave Surgerman should do so with confidence that the work will be completed professionally, in a timely manner, and at a fair price. Eric Trebour PS. I wish I could say the same about Angies List Service. I'd give them an "F". This is the 4th time I've tried to post this review without any success"

"We purchased a home in 1994 that had a slightly sagging 8 X 14' concrete porch extension. Through the years, this had settled to the point of twisting the overhanging roof structure. After calling three different contractors on Angie's List, I received three different and confusing recommendations. Contacting the county for advice, they recommended hiring an engineer. I did that, and he recommended helical piers be used and further recommended Abby Construction Company in Fredericksburg, VA. I contacted them, and the president of the company, Mike Huie visited my home. I liked him immediately! He looked at the porch and confirmed that helical piers would be the best solution. Although the price was higher than my highest previous estimate, it was the only proven solution that would fix the problem. The math, science, and engineering spoke for itself and would prove to be the best option. Once the county permits were completed, Abby Construction began work. They removed the concrete porch and inspected the footers. The footers were in good shape, but the underlying soil was basically "fill." They ended up having to go down 26' before hitting the resistance necessary to carry the overhead load of the concrete porch and the overhanging roof structure. Abby Construction installed three piers, carefully jacked the porch footer into position to match the builder installed porch footer, installed necessary reinforcing bars, built the forms, and poured a tremendous looking new porch extension. It looks great! I am so pleased that we had hired Abby Construction Company to provide their solution. If I had hired anyone else, their solution would NOT have fixed the settling concrete, and the porch would eventually settle again. This will be a permanent solution to my problem. If I had to do this kind of project again, I would call Abby Construction Company to do the work."

"It could not have gone better.  I phoned to ask for prices and a representative came out the next day.   She measured the area which I wanted mulched and gave me a price.    I then checked that price with others, determined it was fair and told her to please schedule the work.  There was a lot of weeds, small trees, etc. in the area which had to be removed prior to mulching.   I told her to do it (since I couldn't) and that was an additional $150.    Then I decided to go with the river rocks along the edge to help keep the mulch where it belongs and that cost $220. <br /> They came within a day or two, the mulch was almost all spread when I arrived home and I couldn't believe what a difference it made.   It looked so good that neighbors driving by stopped to look at it and asked questions about their services.   They came the next day (today) to arrange the rocks around the border of the mulch and now it looks even better - more like a completed project. <br /> I have no complaints about anything - the workmen were very polite, worked hard and fast and left no mess behind.  I count this as one of the best decisions I've ever made regarding my house and yard. <br />"
