"James (Jim) Harden is the owner of Harden's Improvements. I found him in the local newspaper as I was not yet a member of Angie's List. (But, I checked Angie's List before signing the contract!) He responded to my phone call the same day that I left a message for him. He came by within a few days to measure. A few days later I had a detailed written quote. The quote was less than five other contractors who had bid on the job. He was almost four thousand dollars less than three of the contractors! I told Jim that his number was low and that I would be willing to pay more because my insurance company was willing to pay more . He would have none of that and expressed pride in the fact that he often comes in lower than insurance company payouts. He also refused to take any money until the day that he started the job. His advice to me was to and quot;never give contractors money ahead of timeand quot;. Good advice from an honest man with integrity and good sense. <br /> The job was executed very professionally.
