He gave us an idea of what the problem most likely was and told us he would come by but that it would be a couple days. It was about three days later when he came out with a replacement water softener. It was needed rather than repair (our old softener was about 17 years old) and it would have been a costly repair. He did a great installation - had to go through the house and clear all the water lines. He was very polite, and professional. We were disappointed at how long it took, but it was okay.
