"We got assigned this vendor through American Home Shield on June 7. Our AC unit was not holding 79 degrees in our upper floor. The tech came 5 days later and diagnosed a leak in the evaporator coil. They replaced it one week later ($3.5k). The following day, the unit was functioning worse than prior to the installation not holding 80 degrees in any of the floors. We called and came again 3 days later. One would expect they would come earlier as it was a follow up. They told us they need it to re-adjust the temperature of the compressor, apparently (they told us) this is common after coil replacement (why this was not done first? no idea!). One day after the visit, the unit still cannot hold 80 degrees in both floors. It is obvious the tech has no idea of what he is doing. At this point I am not sure the initial diagnosis and replacement of the coil (with the consequent fees of adding new refrigerant, $1800 + hand labor+ modifications, all not covered by AHS) was correct. Extremely frustrated experience. I would not recommend this vendor."

"I got six estimates for replacement of my 12-year-old water heater. I went with Advanced Water Systems of Coastal NC-VA. I’m extremely happy with the purchase and installation of my new water heater. Advanced Water Systems of Coastal NC-VA impressed me at every step of the process. They provided a fair estimate, professional communication and installation, answered all my questions during the process, and cleaned up after they were done. The installation team installed a new gas shut off valve and an expansion tank, in addition to the water heater, and didn’t add on extra charges like some companies. They also insulated the pipes. I’m thankful that everything is now up to code. The plumber explained the purpose of the expansion tank, other companies didn’t even mention one. "Jose' was quick to work us in on a tight schedule, working around the water being shut off at the condo. His rate was 1/3 of what our other plumber charged. He is quick to respond and an excellent communicator. Our situation was a bit difficult in that we weren't sure which condo owner was responsible for the leak. It is just always assumed that we are, being the top condo. We had spent 550.00 in toilet repairs and diagnosis for our neighboring condo underneath us only to learn, it was their leak all along. As the neighbor and I were going back and forth on splitting the cost, Jose was cancelled last minute only to be called back again minutes later to come out after all. His attitude was positive, even after all that. He works efficiently, charges very competitive rates and is on time. Wish we had called him the first time!"
