"First of all I got an appointment for the plumber to arrive one to one and a half hours after I called, and this was not an emergency. He happened to be in my neighborhood, and secondly the cost for him checking the problem was $40.00 less than some other plumbers that I called on Angie's List. The plumber checked all washer hoses and connections and ran different cycles on the washing machine and said they weren't the problem. He said the problem was in the washer's shutoff valve that shuts the water off when a cycle is not running. He said the valve may have something stuck in it to prevent it from shutting off, and that it may clear out by itself after a few washing cycles. That is precisely what happened, it cleared itself after a few washing cycles and the problem is gone. Great diagnosis by the plumber. Will use them again."

A couple of weeks later, early one morning, I called to ask a question about sudden wide pressure fluctuation in my water. Someone called me back very quickly, we discussed what I was seeing and what likely was happening, determined the pressure tank probably had failed (which I expected and had planned to replace soon anyway). They said they thought they could get someone over that day and I did not need to be home. I made sure they could access the tank and, by the time I returned home later that day, the work was done and there was no sign of any disruption - neat, clean, as I had left it but with a nice new pressure tank in place just as we had discussed.
