The materials supplier left shingles in the driveway for a week after work was complete and failed to take additional unused boards. They had to be notified again to remove these materials."

Anything that was difficult or unusual they had difficulty with. A large crew came out for the siding. The staff was considerate and the crew was very hard working. My names Ty Turner, i am 16 years old and i do chimney repair. I worked for a company called masten masonry for 4 months and learned all about fixing brick walls and chimneys, I am a hard worker. "Their estimate was not the cheapest I got, but a friend who is a retired contractor looked at all the estimates I had and said this one was the most thorough and that he thought the price was in line - that he probably couldn't do it any cheaper and I would invariably end up with some unpleasant surprises from the cheaper ones. Mr Denny was a bit slow in getting started, but it was largely due to trying to juggle projects already started with the excessive rain we were having. I had given him an absolute finish deadline and he had the job completed on time. He gave me all the possible options of how to do each of the three main parts of the jobs and gave me exactly what I asked for - even including a lot of extra work I know he did installing a special antique door I wanted to use between the kitchen and sun porch that didn't fit the opening and for which he practically had to move mountains to find hardware. I was especially impressed with his workers - they were POLITE, no foul language, never smoked where any smoke would get in the house, and when they did have a cigarette outside - THEY PICKED UP THE CIGARETTE BUTTS THEMSELVES!!!! It was obvious one of the workers was younger and less experienced and, as a teacher, I enjoyed observing how Mr. Denny supervised and taught him how to do every aspect of the work. They cleaned up the worksite at the end of each workday. Mr. Denny did a "walk-through" with me to double check that I was satisfied with everything when they were finished. Their workmanship was very good - especially considering they were faced with the challenges of tying new into existing materials. I probably should have borrowed the money to go ahead and replace all the sun porch windows at the same time - that's what he recommended,- but I was determined to stay in my cash budget. He purposely built the wall below the windows in such a way that when I'm ready to replace them, the work will tie in with minimal extra demolition required. I will certainly call him again for any remodeling work I need done."

"We contacted five contractors to bid on this project.  Honest Abe was by far the most professional of all the responders.  They conducted a thorough search of both the interior and the exterior, and seemed to be the only one truly interested in repairing the leak.  A few days later, I received a quote from them--not an estimate, but a firm price.  I give an A to Honest Abe for this initial assessment--none of the other four deserves more than a D compared to this company. Honest Abe arrived on the appointed day, having indicated that this job could be finished in two days.  It was finished in two days, although the crew worked until 10 p.m. the evening of the first day.  It was a hard-working, professional crew.  In fact, I was very surprised to receive an e-mail from a next-door neighbor; the e-mail was very complimentary of the work being done by this crew. Honest Abe finished their portion of the job on Friday evening.  The guttering crew (Honest Abe's subcontractor) was supposed to come the following Monday, but it was raining on that day.  They came on Tuesday and finished the job five hours later, and appear to have done a good job.  The rain on Monday was light, and the area which had been leaking did not leak.  It is too soon to render a verdict on whether or not the fix is permanent. One surprising service provided by Honest Abe: No money down.  No payment expected until the job was completed to our satisfaction.  Since the job was completed, we discovered some damage to the roof of our sun porch (a fiberglass roof, not part of the re-roofing project, but a roof the crew needed to be on in order to do the main roof).  Honest Abe has promised to repair this damage before the payment in full. At this point, both my wife and I are very pleased with the work that has been done."
