He arrived right on time, diagnosed the issues, explained them to us in detail and was even able to fix them on the spot. He also did a safety inspection, as our unit had not been used for some time. Following service, he went the extra mile to vacuum up any dust and debris left by service - very much appreciated! Nick was courteous, knowledgeable and capable - I would happily have him back for any future needs with our unit. We don’t have a fireplace but were told that it’s important to clean the exhaust flue since we have gas heat. "Within a year there were issues with settling. They wanted full price to return to redo the job. They didn't back up their work. I was told that the issue was my fault becuase I didn't sholve the snow off the patio. Three other contractors looked at it and said I should have been built on 2-3 feet of crushed stone not 6-8 inchces of stone dust. The patio was redone by someone else who dug down and a placed 2-3 feet of crushed stone. So far all is well."

"Jason and co-workers did an excellent job removing and replacing a garage floor that was beyond repair and installing a new concrete surface under a deck. The work was done over three days, as it involved removal of concrete and excess dirt, installation of subsurfaces, installation of wire mesh reinforcement in the garage, and finally pouring of concrete. They also repaired the foundation and shored it up on the downhill side when they discovered that this was necessary, for no additional cost. The work area was cleaned up to the extent possible after the first and second days, and completely after the job was completed. The finished surfaces are beautiful, and I have confidence that they will last for a very long time. I would give Kirby Masonry my highest recommendation."

Completely clueless, we were hoping they would be able to inspect and clean both the chimney for our wood burning stove, fireplace, and the chimney for our furnace. Imagine our surprise when they arrived and told us they'd been to the house before, serviced it, and even relined one of the chimneys; great information that the seller hadn't told us. The chimney sweep John was extremely professional, pleasant, and told us our chimneys didn't require cleaning. It's rare to find a company who only recommends work when it really needs to be done. They make recommendations without pushing for a sale, and we happily paid for an inspection to have their expertise and experience about how to care for our new home. We plan to use them every year, and highly recommend them for chimney inspections."

"Our chimney needed to be rebuilt from the roof up. We called Carl for an estimate and he sent someone out who gave a free verbal estimate of $1300.00. We scheduled the work and were told they would come out to do the project as soon as they could, as there were other projects ahead of us. The work was completed during three consecutive days by the same gentleman who came out the first time to give the verbal estimate. On the third day, when the work was completed, Carl's worker stated he would be collecting a check from us that day. He then asked what we were quoted on the formal estimate from the company. This came as a complete surprise to us as the only estimate we had ever received was the free, verbal estimate when he first visited our home. He then told my husband he was under the impression the total for the work came to $1800.00 and then he called Carl to confirm. Because of the miscommunication, Carl agreed to charge us $1350.00. This was a positive aspect in our dealings with the company, although they could have been more communicative and clear regarding a formal estimate in the first place. After the work was done, we noticed a lot of debris on our roof, including broken bricks and mortar from the old chimney. We also noticed that a large piece of mortar/cement had been left under our back deck as well as had been spread over parts of our foundation. We are assuming this was extra and the worker was trying to dispose of it. We also never received a receipt for the work. We should have asked for one when we gave him the check, but we were going out of town and were in a rush. Therefore, my husband called Carl multiple times the next week. Carl never answered his phone and his voicemail box was full every single time. My husband also sent an e-mail to the address listed on the company's website, detailing our concerns: 1) no receipt, 2) debris on the roof, and 3) a free cleaning of the chimney which had been part of a verbal agreement -- and my husband never heard back. Due to their unresponsiveness and the mess that was left at our home, we have given up on contacting this company and will be using a different company for any further chimney repairs or cleanings in the future."
