"I had to have my chimney repaired. I had to have some brick work done on the chimney and I needed a cap. I called North American Chimney because I had them out to clean my chimney before and they did a nice job. I called and made an appt. The technicians came out to take a look and gave me a price for a cap and brickwork. I was pleased with the price and I told them to do the job. They did the work that day and I was so happy. The technicians were very professional and knowledgable. I would recommend them to anyone that needs Chimney work as well as fireplaces and many other services."

"Excellent, they were on time and very professional and friendly. They installed a new stainless steel liner after showing us the cracked clay flue and clearly explaining why we should have a liner installed and the benefits, install process, timeframe, etc. They also performed some work in the fireplace to seal it, as the wood mantle was actually visible from within the fireplace due to poor initial construction. They also performed some minor repointing of the interior fireplace brickwork."

"Ben and his son repointed and waterproofed my 220 year old stone basement. He gave me a quote within hours of my call, did the work a week later and the price was very reasonable. They showed up on time and kept everything neat and tidy while they worked. He did everything by hand and is very meticulous. The quality of his work is unsurpassed and my basement stone walls look like new. I cannot thank him enough for taking my basement from one I hated, to one I cannot stop looking at. John was always available to answer our questions or concerns throughout the entire process. He attended to our concerns diligently. We contracted John to replace our brick treads with granite treads. When he found that our brick steps were poorly built 17 years ago, he offered ways to fix the problem including rebuilding the brick steps. He made sure that the added cost would not be a burden to our budget. His prices were fair and his honesty with his findings was greatly appreciated. "Jason surpassed all competitors and my wildest expectations with respect to price, quality, and speed in which he constructed the front steps with stone work integrated into the facade and granite treads. I had already been informed that once demolished, my new staircase would need to include an additional step in order to be up to code. I had two quotes, and got Kirby's number from a neighbor that had a very impressive staircase recently constructed. Jason's quote was more than $1,000 below the previous lowest estimate, which I liked immediately, but he also demolished my old staircase and constructed a beautiful new one with the additional step, and completed all pointing of my stonework surrounding the stairs in a SINGLE DAY. When it was clear it was going to rain that day, he said "No problem" and built a tent around the workspace in order to complete the job. As if all that weren't enough, I had asked he incorporate a number of stones that matched the foundation of my porch into the stairs and he did it beautifully. I am happy to write him a detailed review on Angie's List which is the only thing he asked for in return. I will definitely call Kirby Masonry for projects in the future and would recommend them to anyone. Cheers!"

"They were very friendly, professional, and worked into the evening to get the job done on time. They did a more thorough job than a company we had out a month before and they pointed out that there was a lot of creosote build up missed. They ran into an issue with the ash door installation because we have a weird chimney that doesn't go all the way to the ground. They fixed the miscalculation with no additional cost to us and it looks great. We discussed installing a new liner and repairing some of the stone at the peak of our chimney in the spring. We look forward to working with them again!"

"Our chimney needed to be rebuilt from the roof up. We called Carl for an estimate and he sent someone out who gave a free verbal estimate of $1300.00. We scheduled the work and were told they would come out to do the project as soon as they could, as there were other projects ahead of us. The work was completed during three consecutive days by the same gentleman who came out the first time to give the verbal estimate. On the third day, when the work was completed, Carl's worker stated he would be collecting a check from us that day. He then asked what we were quoted on the formal estimate from the company. This came as a complete surprise to us as the only estimate we had ever received was the free, verbal estimate when he first visited our home. He then told my husband he was under the impression the total for the work came to $1800.00 and then he called Carl to confirm. Because of the miscommunication, Carl agreed to charge us $1350.00. This was a positive aspect in our dealings with the company, although they could have been more communicative and clear regarding a formal estimate in the first place. After the work was done, we noticed a lot of debris on our roof, including broken bricks and mortar from the old chimney. We also noticed that a large piece of mortar/cement had been left under our back deck as well as had been spread over parts of our foundation. We are assuming this was extra and the worker was trying to dispose of it. We also never received a receipt for the work. We should have asked for one when we gave him the check, but we were going out of town and were in a rush. Therefore, my husband called Carl multiple times the next week. Carl never answered his phone and his voicemail box was full every single time. My husband also sent an e-mail to the address listed on the company's website, detailing our concerns: 1) no receipt, 2) debris on the roof, and 3) a free cleaning of the chimney which had been part of a verbal agreement -- and my husband never heard back. Due to their unresponsiveness and the mess that was left at our home, we have given up on contacting this company and will be using a different company for any further chimney repairs or cleanings in the future."
