"They let us know they were no longer in the gutter business. Called a few days in advance to set up a time to do the insulation. They were late and called at 4:45 in the 3:00-5:00 PM window to tell us their truck broke down and they'd be late. Blew in the insulation but didn't coordinate with the roofer about additional sofit vents or put in baffles where the new vents should be added. It was very difficult to communicate with the workers because only one could speak a little english. If all you need is some insulation blown it this company is OK.

"I purchased the Deal expecting the same level of service I received from other Deal services. Improvement Pros originally gave me a date in mid-July. When I had to reschedule, the appointment was moved to mid-August. No offers to put me on a wait list. Just a statement that the work would be done on that date. Two men arrived to install the fans. They told us that it would probably take more time than the three hours purchased and that it would be less expensive to just buy the extra hour. The fans were being installed on sloped,9' ceilings. It took 4 hours to install three fans.
The workmen  did the job and left the area clean. I was disappointed that it took 4 hours. I was disappointed about the lack of availability. I felt put on the spot that if I didn't pay the extra charge, then the fans wouldn't be installed.
When I first used Improvement Pros, it was just John Greer and his wife. They had recently moved to the area. It was a great experience, which was one of the reasons I bought the deal. Now I feel that the company has become just another service.

"Great. Alex did a review of the current location, the type water heater I had (gas versus electric) and what would be required to move the hot water heater. He also suggested I consider a tankless hot water heater based on the expense to move the current one."

"Larry and Brad and their crew were amazing.  They came right out after I called and assessed the damage from our water pipe leak.  The next morning a crew was a the house and removed the water damaged portion of the house.  They place de-humidifiers throughout the house along with large fans to facilitate the drying process.  They kept us up to date on their progress and prepared the home for the re-build contractors.  Very professional and very cost effective.  Their work saved us thousands on the rebuild because of their promptness and thoroughness.  I highly recommend these guys!

"Door Replacement - more work than originally thought but was due to change in codes requiring fire rated door. Since an interior door was being replaced with an exterior door there was a size difference which required reframing the door jam. They walked me through the process of why and how and proceeded.
Deck repairs - more damage that orginally known as structural members were not exposed. Once exisitng stairs were remove there was considerable rot. Offered alternate solutions for handrail. Discussed material options. Provided game plan for repair. Purchased needed materials. Deck repairs completed and handrail added.
Existing electrical outlet changed out to provide plug for garage door opener that had been installed using an extension cord.
The work was more time intense but they stuck with the job until completed in the same in order to work with my travel schedule.
Great all around knowledge of the construction trades. Methodical and kept a clean job site. Kept me up to speed on each project.
Would not hesitate to hire for other work."

"AHS is ok. They cover repairs of most everything under the roof of your house. The companies that contract with them are not always the best. You call AHS with the issue, they send a fax to the repair company and give you the contact info. If they don't contact you within 24 hours, you call them. Sometimes they answer, sometimes they don't. When they arrive (usually three days or so later), they service the item. if it has issues within the 90 days, you call AHS again, they are sent out with no charge. If the serviceman decides the unit is unrepairable, AHS will allow you to choose a replacement from their listing (usually not as good as what you have) they will install and remove your old item, or give you wholesale amount to buy and install your own. Prices vary on what you want covered and what you want the copay to be, plus where you live. For me it is 49.99 per month with a 75.00 time of service order. You can have more than one item serviced at the same time under the same fee. If you have a SEAR product the repair guys are great. Not that wild about the other ones they send out. But it is a big savings compared to calling someone on your own. The cost of service is only the 75.00 copay."

"The work was done by sub-contractors, supervised by a Metro supervisor who was very responsive.  First, the supervisor worked with our insurance company to agree on a price for the roofing, which took care of the full roofing job, less the deductible, which we paid.  We also upgraded the shingle style at our cost.
The job was done in two long days and the workmanship was excellent, with one exception:  One of the roofers used long nails over the eves, punching through exposed eve surfaces, leaving long nails exposed and splintering the wood on about half of our eves.  The other half of the eves were boxed in and were not a problem.  Metro hired another sub contractor to come back and cut off the nails and sand and caulk the splintered surfaces so that they are prepared for painting, which we planned to do soon.  The repair work was done in a timely fashion.
The roofers installed several roof vents, metal flashing all around, and painted all exposed metal vents and flashing to match the roof color.  There were some broken siding shingles at the roof-siding junction, which we will need to replace.
A separate sub-contractor removed and installed our gutters and down spouts in one day, and did an excellent job.  They are very solid and look neat and professional.
The Metro supervisor stayed with the project until we were satisfied and was very responsive.

"I contacted Dan with a list of things that needed to be fixed/installed, etc. for a condo that I will be moving into in the near future.  Dan called me within an hour to go over the list and we scheduled a time for him to come out and review the work to be completed.  He followed up a day later with an email and suggested that if we agreed that he would work on the projects, that he could get started on the first day, which was unexpected, but appreciated.

Dan and his wife spent a good portion of seven days at my condo completing the following projects:  installing blinds, replacing all door knobs, replacing all outlets/switches, fixing sliding door, fixing sheetrock around one of my air vents, and the major project was removing wire racks in all closets and the pantry and building, priming, and painting wood shelves and staining closet rods.  They also repainted my closet walls because we did not know what paint was used previously.  Everything was completed to my satisfaction and in particular, they did an outstanding job on the closets -- I'm so happy with them.

Dan is a very good communicator.  He was very thorough and honest in his assessment of what needed to be done.  I highly recommend Dan, and I will be contacting him in the future for additional projects as I continue to update/remodel the condo."
