"The service was quickly provided by two gentlemen, one being the owner. They were happy to allow me to observe the process so that i could understand how my fireplace works and what needed to be serviced."

"Jeramie was amazing and very knowledgeable. Told him what I needed and he did a thorough inspection and advised me the best and cheapest way to ge to my goal. I actually had him out to inspect the chimney and another company was going to do the fireplace repair until he advised they do all and it was cheaper. Highly recommend"

"Although we had to wait a lot longer than expected for the work to be done, once it was our turn, the work was done expertly and promptly. We asked them to come back to re-polish the stone which they did without any issue. I highly recommend this company for any brick or stonework you may have for your historic home. I have passed Dan's company name along to our local HDC."

"It's HARD to find a good mason.  (Believe me... I'm still trying to get my money back from one who did terrible work for me a couple years ago!)   Ken is a top-notch mason.  He went above and beyond to do an excellent job for a very reasonable price.  He was able to work around different challenges that came up, worked well with the other contractors (who were doing the wood portion of the porch), and did it all with a smile.  He paid attention to the smallest details - putting up a temporary mailbox while the porch was inaccessible, cleaning up every bit of debris / trash, dying the mortar because he noticed the existing mortar had a slightly reddish hue.   I will definitely go back to him with any masonry needs. <br />"

"I was told there was a crack at the top of my chimney, allowing water to enter the chimney, was told they sealed it and no more water would get in. The next rain storm, tons of water leaking inside, called them to have them come back, was told someone would be out, no one came, called three more times on different days, was told twice someone would be out, no one came, eventually they stopped returning my calls. Had another company come out, they immediately found a few areas where mortar was completely missing around some bricks and the old caulking at the roof line had large holes in it. The other company sealed and caulked, no more leaks. When Best Chimney replaced the porch steps, they only mortared one side of the steps, but left large gaps at the top of the step where it met the porch and left large gaps open along the other side where each step met each other and met the side of the porch. The large gaps will make great homes for ants and wasps, when asked why they didn't fill the gaps all the way around, I was told because it will just crack open when the house shifts. It really just looked like they ran out of mortar mix and didn't want to waste time/money making more. I sealed up the gaps myself. When they did the gutter, they ran the down spout right up against the house below my window, so water will pour out against my wall/house. Never saw that before, everyone knows you need water to run AWAY from your house, not against it. I had to remove the down spout and fix it myself. They're responsive until they do the work and get your money, but after that you will never get a return call and no one will ever come back to correct any issues. They did this to me the last time I used them about 3 years ago for brick work. I will never use or recommend this company again."

"Midwest came by and left an unsolicited note on my door noting that there were masonry issues at the bottom of the garage (easily seen from the street) and on the chimney.  You had to stand closer to the house to see the chimney issues but it would have been possible to see the problems from the ground - if you knew what to look for.  I was well aware of the issue by the garage because it was something I had been planning to do something about - I just didn't know who to call.  I had a cap put on the chimney and a lot of work done on the top several rows when I moved into the house (about 15 years ago).  The work I had done at the time was by a man who was suggested by the person who inspected my house before I bought it.  The work I had done at that time cost me in excess of $4000 - and he did not do a very good job - so I was a little nervous about getting the work done again.  Blake, from Midwest, came to evaluate the job within a couple of days of my contact.  He took pictures and climbed up on the roof and took more pictures.  The earlier job on the chimney top had crumbled and I could see all the cracks in the mortar in the pictures.  Jeff called me back with an estimate ($2750) that was a better price for more work than what I had paid 15 years ago.  They did excellent work matching my bricks (they aren't made anymore) and completing the work in a timely fashion.  The job was completed in another week or two - weather and my going out of town intervened.  They did a wonderful job for a good price.  I'm very happy with their work, their professionalism, and the price - and I plan to have them back in the spring to re-pour my concrete driveway. <br />"
