Daren (and his brother-in-law, whose name escapes me) were both extremely professional and personable. Daren provided pictures of my chimney, which clearly showed I had a problem. "Bob was very friendly and knowledgeable. We have had issues with our gas fireplace since it was installed by the builder. There was a very bad odor that kept us from using the fireplace, and it was very drafty too. Bob identified the problem right away. He inspected the fireplace, added some insulation to it and cleaned it.  
He gave us instructions about what to expect regarding the odor, a description of what different odors mean and told us to call him if the problem persists.

"Mr. Cowan answered my call when I needed help, I had called someone else because I had forgotten I had used Mr. Cowan's services before. The person never called me back. Mr. Cowan had his men at my house before he said he could do the job and they even mended up a few bricks on the side that were in need of some TLC. They cleaned up and I didn't have to worry about the mess from the old bricks at all. It was a big load off my mind. If I need Mr. Cowan again for any mason work, I won't forget him next time."

They came on time as scheduled for both the quote (which was very fair for the work that needed done) and actual work start date. The work they did looks amazing, and they took care to make the new sections of mortar have the same style as the old sections on our beautiful Victorian. Patrick even pointed out several other issues (some of which we were aware of), and prioritized them based on severity. We will happily be hiring them again for our masonry needs!"

"Beautiful job! The kitchen counters have nevaska granite, and perla venata quartzite for the kitchen bar. Went in one Saturday, founds the ones we liked, took samples home to test for staining, etching, scratches - both passed with flying colors. Went back the next Saturday to pick our slabs, they came and measured, went back for placement on the stone and they installed the following Friday. They were in and out in a little over 2 hours. Very nice bunch of guys who did a beautiful job, didn't break or ruin anything - it was a pleasure to have a job run smooth and everything look better than when they came. We love the new stone, it looks like we have a bigger kitchen and the stone is so beautiful - we couldn't be happier. I would definitely recommend KOL - they have an extensive selection, will answer ALL the questions you may have, and do a wonderful installation."
