"Sebastian and Team, They arrived on time and ready to work today. They removed the old insulation and trucked it away in sealed bags. The fiberglass was placed in their truck and they installed the new foam insulation. They took several pictures and send them to my wife and she was very pleased. Sebastian charged a fare price and would recommend him as a insulation Pro."

"We went with Acorn because our representative Mike was knowledgeable, thorough and reasonable with the cost of the insulation work. When the work was being done ,the crew was great and made sure the areas were clean once they were complete. I'll be sure to recommend them and use them for any future work."

"I RECENTLY HAD MY ATTIC INSULATION REPLACED BY MASTER ATTIC. ALEX CAME OUT RIGHT ON SCHEDULE AND GAVE ME A FAIR PRICE. ( I DID HAVE 4 OTHER ESTIMATES) THE CREW LEAD BY ROBERTO WAS AMAZING. THEY WERE VERY CONSIDERATE, CAREFUL IN MAKING SURE THE AREA WAS SEALED OFF AND WERE VERY CAREFUL OF MY PERSONAL BELONGINGS. THEY DID A GREAT JOB IN REMOVING OLD INSULATION , VACUUMING OUT THE ATTIC ,SPRAYED AREA AND SEALED ANY OPENINGS. BEFORE THEY BROUGHT IN NEW INSULATION, THEY ASKED ME IF I WISHED TO TO VIEW THE ATTIC AND I DID. I WAS AMAZED EVEN AT THIS POINT, HOW CLEANED EVERYTHING LOOKED . (THIS INSULATION HAD BEEN UP THERE FOR 70 YEARS) NEW INSULATION WAS INSTALLED AND IT LOOKS GREAT. THE CREWED CLEANED UP EVERYTHING , EVEN VACUUMED THE AREA IN THE ROOM. ALL BAGS OF OLD INSULATION WERE REMOVED PROMPTLY AND I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE."

"We had been living in our house for 5 years and although the kitchen was a new addition, every winter my wife & I had noticed how noticeably the temperature differentiated especially after the winter of 2014/15.  And because it was a dirt floor with some wood and old construction debris strewn about.  I was not so keen on staying down there.  In doing my own investigation there was some piping and insulation under floor.
So when investigating estimates we called a number of "green" companies.  Out of the three companies that came, only Frank Petrullo with Eco Green Solutions, noticed the mold and a water leak coming from fridge line.  He took the time to show me where the water was coming, how mold had proliferated on the wood floor joists and beams.  The dirt floor was somewhat moist and light was visible from outside along foundation rim contributing to the mold and moisture in crawl space.  He explained each of our options and detailed the steps in sections of each estimate.
We opted to have a plumber fix the water leak, then franks crew came in, cleaned up the mold, then layed down the crawl space membrane, finally insulating floor & rim joist.  All in under two days.  The crew showed up on time, left the open sections of the house clean, and we immediately noticed a difference in kitchen and rest of house.  Walking around bare foot in kitchen is more comfortable, the kitchen is less noisy, and house humidity is maintained.

"They pointed out areas of air loss that needed to be covered or blocked and advised  more attic insulation which service they will provide. Their price offer seems reasonable.  I'm still crunching numbers.

"I live in and own a 2-family home that has flat rook and that is located in the Bronx, NY. I live in the lower unit and my tenants live in the upper unit, which is right below the roof. Our current and previous tenants would often complain that the rental unit felt cold when the temperature outside fell and my wife said that even when the indoor temperature in that unit was high, the unit felt drafty, which can make the unit feel colder than it actually is as the heat escapes through the roof rapidly. A contractor who installed kitchen for us in that unit told us that our roof had absolutely no insulation- something he saw when he installed the exhaust for range hood. So last year, I decided to call this company for a quote. My hope was that insulating the roof would significantly decrease the release of heat, which would make the unit warmer and reduce airflow (i.e., drafts). When I called, a really nice receptionist answered the phone, took my information down, and answered a few questions, and told me that the owner, Joe, would call me back either the same day or the next. The reason for this is that Joe is usually out doing roof insulations himself. When Joe called back, I was quoted a price of $3.00/square foot, but decided not to go ahead at that time. He was very nice and polite and is willing to answer lots of questions. He seems really passionate about his work and will describe in pretty significant detail what he does. This year, we decided to pull the trigger so we called back and received a quote of $2.50/square foot- a savings of $500 to insulate our 1,000 square foot roof. As you can imagine, that made me happy. We spoke on Friday and set up an appointment for Wednesday (5 days later). Joe and one of his workers arrived with their truck at 7:30 am and were finished by 9:45 am. The process was so much faster than I could have imagined. And, they didn't even have to come inside the house! Joey and his worker used a 40-ft tall ladder to scale the front of the house (it's 3 stories high) and to take their equipment up to the roof. Once up there, they used an electric saw to make a hole (they might have made 2) through which to blow in the insulation. The noise from the saw lasted about 10-15 minutes, after which the work they were doing was relatively quiet. I was actually really amazed at how non-intrusive the whole thing was and how quickly the job was completed. Joey made sure to show me exactly what kind of insulation he was using and gave me written materials about the product he was using (blow-in fiberglass). If Angie's List lets me update this review, I will definitely write back once we have experienced the insulation in cold weather to describe how well it is working."

"They were fabulous. We could not have been happier with the work. They were so efficient and did such a great job. They cleaned up after themselves. They did an awesome job. I would recommend them to anyone!

We got 3 estimates to insulate approx 2500 sq ft of attic and install insulation in foundation crawl space. Howard from Metro gave us estimate of $4500 for 15" of cellulose insulation for the attic..that was twice the amount of insulation from the lowest estimate ( 7" + crawlspace $3000), but didn't include crawlspace. Highest estimate was approx $6,000 for 12"+ crawlspace. Howard from Metro said we would be better off with more insulation in attic and over garage then with less and insulation in crawlspace. He brought in at no cost to us, someone to do infrared scan of house for energy leakage. How was found to be tight but he recommended to better seal front door (I did myself). We went with Howard, crew showed up on time, did what they had to, very polite, clean. Oh...almost forgot...he also installed two ducts from bathroom exhaust fans that were vented into attic (no charge)...I was having that section of roof redone in spring and roofers attached vents in roof to ducts (went very smooth).  I would highly recommend Metro."

"UPDATE :

The experience was generally poor. This was a result of Paragon using subcontractors on just about the entire job. I rarely saw anyone employed by Paragon. After the job was finished and I complained about some of the work, I heard from Tom, the President. He said the use of subcontractors on my job was a mistake on their part. Paragon no longer uses that main subcontractor, and some of his supervisors have been removed from their positions.

Tom then had some Paragon people come by to fix up remaining issues as best they could. The experience I had with Paragon personnel was generally good. So I have updated this review. This review might have been entirely different had they used Paragon people for my project. I wish this review could be different. But it is what it is.

Although Tom seemed sincere and most of the Paragon people I did see were very good, I would hesitate to use them again. I would suggest you get some kind of guarantee in writing that they will use Paragon personnel (except for plumbing and electric subcontractors who were also good).

Here is a list of some of the problems we had:

* Workers would park in the driveway with personal vehicles. This was in the winter of 2014  and it was a BAD winter.

* I had to clean up cigarette butts from the yard and gutters. I also had to ask them NOT to smoke with the doors of the house open when they stood right outside the door.

* Removal of leaded doorways was not done according to any guideline we read about.

* They broke several personal items in the house which we deducted from their bill.

* New walls were not sanded well. Amateur job.

* Painted areas would have primer showing through.

* I would have to clean every day after the workers left.

* Bathroom was left a mess. Workers would use the bathroom and the floors would be a mess at the end of the day.

 * Shower door molding was installed tilted to the outside of the shower so water would drain outward into the room. They fixed' this so marble was level, but should be tilted slightly inward.

* Doors backwards, areas left unfinished (moldings, plaster), sloppy painting, gaps in floors, and other items not really up to standard on a $70,000 job.

* Job began in January and finished in June, It was supposed to take a month.  Poor planning and delivery of materials.

* We were met on every turn with '"that is not covered on the contract", yet this is a two way street. (They ended up fixing some doors instead of replacing as per contract)

BOTTOM LINE

I acknowledge that people and companies go through growth spurts and make mistakes, but not sure why it should take so long to correct them. In addition, fixing things after the fact (mostly anyway) does not lessen the impact of having to live through a five month ordeal. You can say you are sorry and you will make it up to me on the next job, but it doesn?t lessen the pain that my wife and kids went through for all that time.

If you go with them make sure you have it written they will use Paragon people. Make sure you have Paragon people supervising and doing status checks every week! Make sure the job is spelled out in detail and hold them to it!
