Once we locked in a date, they knocked it out relatively quickly, and gave me instructions on how to maintain the artificial grass going forward. The cost was very reasonable in comparison to the quotes I received from other contractors, and they did not charge me for leftover artificial grass, which they could have done. "We hired the Winters for a bathroom remodel. We are very pleased overall. When we had the Winters out for an estimate, we scheduled for a Saturday, 3 weeks ahead of time. Based on experiences with other contractors, with that much time having passed, I felt the chance was high they'd have forgotten or be late. No! They were right on time, even at our hard to find rural property. So that was my first good impression. The estimate was good so we scheduled. The date for the work was quite a few months out, but the Winters were great about setting expectations. They didn't try to sugar coat that it might be sooner. They were realistic, and they were pretty spot on as far as when they were actually able to start the work. Tom did the work. You can tell he takes pride in his work, as if it is his own house. I was impressed that he used some of the shipping boxes to kind of "model" where the tub and vanity would be to get a good feel of how things would fit together. Unlike with contractors we've used before, I felt like we were "taken care of." Tom handled things that came up. When I expressed concerns, Tom said "It's going to be great!"...and it was, and always communicated well. There was an issue with the sink plumbing that we ordered, and Tom took the initiative to contact the manufacturer and get a replacement part. This was also during the start of the COVID19 time, and Tom diligently wore a mask while he was here. I would hire the Winters again in a heartbeat."

The only thing I did not care for was he charges by the hour and he was using my hand tools the entire time which gave me the impression that he was slowing things down or trying to take his time. That was something I did not particularly care for because I never went back and used him. He was fine except he took time. Timing is what broke his price. He did fine work. I felt like he was not trying to do things in a more integrity-driven way. I would tell a friend or family that he seems to charge a fair price, but then, he takes time and that is how he builds up his rate."

"Job did not go well. The two guys were very courteous, but not experience with house siding. The chimney was clad in same siding as house horizontal 6 inch cedar. They didnt put the new siding on level or even uniform spacing. Left gaps in the structure that would have caused water damage. The owner refunded part of our money.

"It's unfortunate that I have to write this, especially since we started out so well with the first of a two phase project, but I have to write the good and the bad, which is why Angie's Lists exists. Jay Construction completed the second phase of a major project with some skepticism on my part about a top soil purchase they made on my landscapers behalf that ultimately ended with me purchasing a lot more top soil (almost $1K worth) so my landscapers could complete their portion of the project. I requested on numerous occasions for a copy of the receipt so I could see exactly how much soil they purchased and was delayed by excuse after excuse, which only made me wonder if they cheated me in some way. I mean, if you tell me you have nothing to hide, but yet it's been 3 weeks and I still have not received a copy of the receipt after multiple attempts what am I supposed to think. I can say that I think they are good at what they do and have a good work ethic, but after paying $50K to them on these two projects, money I didn't have readily available and had to pull from my 401(k) because of an emergency situation, I had hoped to be treated a lot better! I'm a single mom, I don't have extra money laying around..."
