"Best service at a great price! We had first had an inspection from someone else whose price seemed way too high. We went to Bollen's Hearth in Breman, GA to find a new fireplace insert and they recommended Bryan. Bryan came and gave us a price 1/3 the previous people. Always showed up on time and installation was beautiful. His work is as if he was doing for this own mom. We love our fireplace and will be using Bryan for years to come for cleaning."

NOTE: This review has been edited. Our original review for Tile Creations Big Deal bathroom renovation stated that I was satisfied with their work and that they did a good job. Our original complaint focused on difficulties in communication, and Tile Creations' refusal to honor the second of two Big Deals that we had purchased.

A professional who came to give an estimate on that second Big Deal project pointed out some major workmanship issues that that we had not originally identified. We have sent photographs and descriptions of the problems found to Tile Creations and we have changed our review to reflect these problems.

The major problems identified include:

Floor tile was installed directly onto the uneven, cracked concrete base that remained after the old tile was removed. Concrete backer board was not installed as promised in the Big Deal and the statement of work provided by Tile Creations prior to beginning work. The resulting tiles are unevenly spaced, not flush with each other, and not level.

Two different colors of grout were used in the tub surround. Most of the grout was a light gray color; the grout along the tub was a darker reddish color. The darker color draws attention to the uneven grout lines where some new tiles had to be replaced in the course of installation.

The grout used in the project was very crumbly and rough, and is flaking off in some places. It was not smoothed, cleaned, or sealed as specified in the Big Deal.

The baseboards and shoe molding still show some raw wood where they were not completely painted.  There are noticeable gaps between the wood and the floor. The finish work is sloppy.

Although we specified oil rubbed bronze for the plumbing fixtures and accessories, the tub drain plug and overflow cover are shiny chrome.

As our desired resolution, we are asking that the work be completed as described in the Big Deal that we purchased and in the written statement of work from Tile Creations.

Tiles should be evenly spaced, flush with each other, and level.
Grout should be all the same color, smoothed, cleaned, and sealed.
Baseboards and shoe molding should be neatly finished and completely painted.
Fixtures should all be the specified color - oil rubbed bronze.

If they will not complete the job as spelled out in the Big Deal and their statement of work, we'd like a refund so we can get someone else to fix these problems."

"The process went exceptionally well. What I liked most about Adrian and his team is their willingness to listen to my design ideas. They would also recommend efficient and cost effective ways to achieve those design goal and maintain the project schedule. Quality of work: The client was particular about the tilework and its installation, because the goal was to create a monolithic appearance in the bathroom . European Construction team rose to the challenge on this project illustrating detailed craftsmanship. The end product was a sleek, modern bathroom. Along with being professional, punctual, they stayed on budget and completed the project on time."

"Casteel Chimney Sweeps did a great job. They came on time and communicated well through the whole process. My job produced some challenges but Allen was fantastic, adapting to each one. He tore the old one down and rebuilt it just like I wanted. The tile and mantel look great and I love my new fireplace. It has eliminated the terrible cold air I experienced from the old fireplace while making it so easy to turn on a beautiful fire. Thanks Casteel!"

"I called Michaels Plumbing to come out to our home this past Monday. We had used them in the past for other plumbing problems and they were always helpful and honest.
We had been having a pipe out the side of our house pour boiling hot water on my plants and killing them. Chris arrived promptly and was very helpful. He let me know that we had very high pressure and that our pressure valve had gone bad. He proceeded to check our water heater and showed me where it had started leaking and was rusting out in the back and on the bottom. I gave them the go ahead to get the whole mess changed out and he scheduled a second crew for that afternoon. (I had appointments to go to and needed them to come back later for that size job.) Due to the leak I asked him to go ahead and drain our tank and turn the water off so we wouldn't have a flood. Just my luck I'd come back from the Dr.'s to a flooded basement - so I wanted to be safe.
Robert and Josh showed up on time. They were polite, knowledgeable and kept everything clean and tidy. They had def. done quite a few, because their system was down pat! In less than 2 hours they were done, cleaned up and water back on for supper. They did an awesome job. I would certainly use them again and recommend them to anyone who needs a plumber or gas work done.

"Dealing with Mark Rownd and the rest of his crew was great. Not a single problem or concern - something I've come to realize is a rarity with construction jobs today.
I had gotten multiple quotes from a lot of other companies, including many of the top rated Angie's List companies, and noted wide price swings, frequent no-shows for quote appointments, and some very substantial inaccuracies provided by them.
Concrete Work's prices weren't the lowest quote I got, but Mark was honest and up-front and I felt that I could trust him and the company. I wasn't wrong as I'm very pleased with the work that was done and hope to have Mark and Concrete Works back again for more planned projects.
To be completely candid - I never met Mark Rownd or had any dealings with Concrete Works before this project, so this is a true unbiased customer review, but I wouldn't consider using anybody else but them for all of my projects.
I wish all of the construction companies were like these guys - I'd have a lot less gray hair!
