Was actually 15 minutes early when he came to remove our 22 year old furnace and some of the ductwork and install a new 96% energy efficient gas furnace, and a humidifier. He told us the job would take 4-5 hours to complete, and it took him 5 hours, but that included cleaning up too. Left his work area clean, and even took the old furnace and duct work with him. Did a fantastic job, and we love our new Goodman furnace. We had gotten 4 quotes from different Heating & Cooling companies, and he was the most reasonable by far. My husband and I both liked Fred after meeting him and talking to him for a while, and knew he would be our choice to put in our new furnace. "Very professional. Replaced furnace & Air conditioner plus new water heater a Humidifier plus Hi Tech thermostat. I had made 4 requests to heating and cooling companies. They came in with a lower bid and superior product. Work was scheduled and they completed everything within 1 day. "Jim is local.  It went great. Jim Ferrell is a professional of the highest caliber. Responded quickly, took care of my problems, and advised me as to better means of protection than I had. He came back a second time to uninstall software that I purchased that did not provide adequate protections and installed free software that would do the job.  He did the work through remote connection, but is available on site if necessary.
For those people needing help on getting red of malware, viruses , etc. on your computer,  Jim is local, better than all thse remote out of state location providers, is a mature, highly trained professional in this area.
If you go to local computer stores you get very young people that can do a basic job, but are no where near the professional level of Jim.

"Went OK. They did the work and it 'mostly worked' when they were done. I say mostly because the pressure valve was blowing off of the boiler when they were done (This was NOT happening before they had done the work). I had noticed this the day after I had paid. I contacted them and they wanted to replace the expansion tank and charge me $200. I asked - shouldn't this be covered under the initial work of $4600? They said the part wasn't explicitly in the quote. Frankly at this point to replace what really was a $40 part and half hour of time to do a fully finished job (for $4600). For 1. How am I supposed to know (as a customer) what should be on the quote for a fully finished job (pumps, piping, etc? - they are the expert) 2. How am I supposed to know this isnt their fault. (Shouldnt an autofilling expansion tank be connected to the incoming water supply?) Frankly not standing fully behind their work and making sure they do everything to do a good, finished job - left a 'bad' taste in my mouth. In the end I replaced the auto-filling expansion tank with an Extrol expansion tank for $40 and it took me less than an hour. After that it all appears to work."

"My Polaris Water Heater needed the blower motor replacing. I could not find a local Polaris dealer in Michigan to service the unit. I called several plumbing and cooling companies, but none seem to have any experience with Polaris except for Grapids. Erik came out removed the blower and found another part that needed to be replaced. When the part came in, Erik came back and got the parts installed. "Went well to this point of replacing parts. Then the United needed to have a system leak test and then needed freon put in pump. This was refused by Choice warranty. We were left with a partial repair and a heat pump not able to do it's job."

"They quoted a high price and a low price and they charged the high.  We ended up paying the lower of the two after about a year.  We had a dispute with them that they never took care of.  They left a hole in my wall.  What they did was they cut through from the other side and ruined our wall that we just had a carpenter build and trim.  They just cut through to install a register and then he came back and was going to fix it, then never returned to fix it and never returned calls.  He just kept sending the bill.  I just settled with them probably a month ago.  I said I am not paying $300, I paid $200 because they did do the work.  They just didn't do a good job."
