Nature of Project: Add a new egress window
Comment: Looking to get prices for changing out my standard basement window for an egress window in my finished basement. Interested because one is necessary to count the space as a legal bedroom on the Ohio MLS and I plan on listing in the next month or so. Some Realtors have said that even though it's not technically a legal bedroom on the MLS, I can still ask/get the same price as if it was, so I would like to know the cost to just make it legal. I'm also curious if there's any code / space requirements for the area the window opens to, (this window the well almost contacts the concrete patio on one corner & the majority is in a flower bed) so I will need to know how much the actual window itself costs, in addition to labor price, and amount of time needed to install. I'm also curious whether or not you will install an already purchased window or if you only install certain products. thank you for your time!
