I own a 1937 farmhouse in Whatcom County. I had concerns about the insulation in the crawl space and the attic. The owner of RGS came to my home and spent an hour inspecting the areas I was concerned about after which he sat down with me, explained what was needed and gave me a bid to do the work. The owner is as professional, knowledgeable and courteous as any business owner I have ever met. He quoted me a great price and gave me the highest quality of service I could have hoped for. "Simon did a wonderful job. We called up on Friday and were able to be squeezed in that Sunday. He inspected the furnace and all the vents in the house. He took pictures, then explained what needed to be done and the pricing for the services. He let me know how long he estimated it would take and went to work quickly on the house. All the vents were cleaned out and sterilized. Simon was so helpful in letting us know his opinions on the house filter and furnace. Two things that we needed expert opinions on. He probably saved us a few thousand dollars in unneeded expenses. Already the house smells and feels cleaner. So thankful that my husband scheduled Starducts. We will definely use this company again. "Golden Quality Builds did an incredible job with my home remodel. The house wasn't updated since the 80's and definitely was in need of an update. "Jon and his crew were great. They showed up on time, laid down floor protection and did exactly what we had discussed. And they even did more when asked. The great part was that they had to bag up all the plaster and old insulation and carry it through the front of the house. They took great care in making sure there was a cardboard path laid out, that the bags didn't leak and that there was as little dust and debris hitting the first floor as possible. Overall, I would recommend them highly and hire the company again.

"Eco Roofs did a great job getting a new metal roof up on my cabin before the snow started this winter. They came in with the lowest bid which was for a cheaper metal roof that used exposed fasteners and upgraded me to a better roof without exposed fasteners. The crew worked through rainy conditions on a slick 12/12 cedar shake roof doing the tear off with speed and professionalism. They also were very thorough installing the new roof with an eye for detail and a pride of workmanship. They were all very friendly and took the time to address my questions and concerns. I could not ask for better service and I felt like I made some new friends with all the Eco Roofing installers and staff."

"Mark Duell came to check out the issue and really did good work helping to figure out the situation. He gave good initial guesses at the root of the problem and also gave helpful suggestions. After doing some drywall and carpet removal on my own I had him come back to the house. We found that there weren't any issues with leaks from foundation defects or seepage through the floor slab. Instead, the leak seemed to be coming from cracks in the concrete slab of a wrap around porch above the basement and possibly a gap between the porch slab and the top of the foundation. Of everyone that came by to take a look with the problem, Mark was by far the most thorough. Unfortunately, Perma-Dry doesn't do the kind of work needed on the porch needed to fix the problem and I was asked to contact a concrete repair specialist instead. If I did need a french drain or sump pump, Mark would be at the top of my list of people to call. Truly a professional."

"AHS is ok. They cover repairs of most everything under the roof of your house. The companies that contract with them are not always the best. You call AHS with the issue, they send a fax to the repair company and give you the contact info. If they don't contact you within 24 hours, you call them. Sometimes they answer, sometimes they don't. When they arrive (usually three days or so later), they service the item. if it has issues within the 90 days, you call AHS again, they are sent out with no charge. If the serviceman decides the unit is unrepairable, AHS will allow you to choose a replacement from their listing (usually not as good as what you have) they will install and remove your old item, or give you wholesale amount to buy and install your own. Prices vary on what you want covered and what you want the copay to be, plus where you live. For me it is 49.99 per month with a 75.00 time of service order. You can have more than one item serviced at the same time under the same fee. If you have a SEAR product the repair guys are great. Not that wild about the other ones they send out. But it is a big savings compared to calling someone on your own. The cost of service is only the 75.00 copay."

"I had used Carlstrom before to do an overall remodel of house, but had overlooked the upstairs bathroom needing a shower. When I realized I needed this done I called Colton and Sean, who are both a delight to work with, and asked them if they could get it done by April 10 - about two weeks from time of phone call. The job was difficult because the bathroom was under the eaves, leaving no standing room for a shower. I talked it over with Colton for some time and we finally decided the best thing would be to install a dormer to make more space in the bathroom. Sean started work about one week later and he made everything very easy for me by going to Home Depot and looking at the tub and tiling options for me and picking up most of these things himself. When I realized I needed to add in a heater and skylight Sean took it all in stride. Best of all was the marmoleum floor I had just installed six weeks before came out without a scratch! Sean did an excellent job of protecting it despite all the plumbing, tiling, etc. I think Sean undercharged me for all the additional work he did, and on top of that he finished the project 3 days early. From the outside the dormer looks as if it were always part of my house (a 1912 bungalow in Wallingford)."
