"We had contacted Chimney.com and asked if they could check out our gas fireplace and tell us if it needs to be replaced or fixed. Ours was a 2002 possible model, so it definitely need to be replaced. They let us know what the estimate would be for a total replacement with a Majestic Fireplace and all the bells and whistles that come with it! We said yes and set a date. Then they notified us that it came in early and if we would like them to come out earlier than scheduled and we said YES!! They showed up early in the morning -a little after 8 AM which is fabulous! They worked the whole day taking the old stuff out putting the new stuff in! The crew cleaned up as they worked. "We had a new pellet stove installed.  I was super impressed with everything from the consultation to the finished product.  Let me just say that I researched getting a pellet stove off and on for over 2 years.  I got ranges in price between $1900.00 and $5500.00. Finally, I went to Angie's list for reviews.  They did not steer me wrong.  I met with the owner Matt for a consultation.  He knew his stuff and was very pleasant to work with. 90 days same as cash and my pellet stove was installed.  I love it.  It is beautiful.  I had just painted my brick hearth white and they didn't even make any marks during installation.  I highly recommend this company.

"A few weeks after purchasing a Big Deal coupon, I visited Granite Worksof Maryland to select a piece of granite for my vanity top. I told Art that the vanity was white and I wanted a granite remnant that would contrast with the white but nothing too exotic. Surprisingly Art found a remnant that met all of my requirements after only 15 minutes of searching. We then discussed amount of overhang, shape of sink, and bevel type and he finally instructed me in what measurements I needed to provide him before fabrication could start. There was a bit of miscommunication on the measurements but I was able to send him a diagram of the vanity dimensions and how it was situated with respect to the bathroom walls so that fabrication could take place.
When the vanity top was installed and I polished the stone, I just had to marvel at the quality of the stone. To me it looked like it had come from the Queen's bathroom in Windsor Castle. I had looked at a few remnant suppliers but Granite Works Big Deal price was by far the lowest. Art and Bruno know their stone.
I will point out that the Big Deal did not include a technician coming to my residence to take the necessary measurements, the delivery of the vanity top to my residence, and the installation of the vanity top, back splash, and side splash or anyplumbing parts installation."

"The technicians redid the bricks so that you couldn't even tell they were repaired. It looked beautiful. They put in a new liner in the chimney and waterproofed it. They redid the inside of the fireplace to bring it up to code and put in a chain that easily opens and closes the flue. It looks so good and easy that I may decide to use the fireplace again. They redid the pipes in the basement so the fumes from the boiler and hot water heater went up the chimney in the correct way. There had been water damage and they corrected the damage and closed off the hole in the wall (foundation) and made a bigger hole in the correct place so that everything was up to code. They were polite, efficient and worked very hard to get the work done in the promised two days. I have interviewed many companies and found this company to be straight-forward in telling me what they would do and didn't try to tell me they were giving me a "good deal." Rather I feel they gave me an honest estimate on what needed to be done and didn't try to pressure me into using their company. They did give me 10% off because I was an Angie's List customer. What company to use was a hard decision for me because I knew nothing about chimney repair. Because so much of the repair was inside the chimney I couldn't tell what they had done. Based on my experience I feel they did a good job. I don't have a picture of the repaired chimney but it looks great--better than it did before the bricks fell. If someone wants more detail I can copy exactly what they did from the invoice. Also, maybe the company can show a picture of the finished product. Since it is summer time I haven't had any experience using the chimney but will let you know how things work out during the winter."
