"Eric was prompt and arrived when he said he would. He did a great job cleaning the firebox. Actually, he did it better than the worker who did it last year. The reason I gave a C grade overall is that AFTER Eric completed the cleaning and reset the soot, grate and logs, he advised me that I should not burn any fires as I needed repairs completed as the firebox was not safe. I think that the time to tell me that would have been before I spent  the money to complete the cleaning and inspection. I also had estimates done for tuckpointing on the outside chimney bricks and repairs to the firebox. "Completely rebuilt our 26-year-old wood burning mason fireplace to bring it up to code. In the firebox completely removed fire brick from back and both side walls. completely removed clay flue and replaced with insulated stainless steel. This included adding a lever operated lock top damper and stainless-steel exterior flue cap. Much time was spent adding chamber tech 2000 parge coating to the smoke chamber. Kevon and his two workers were excellent. All details on steps being taken were clearly explained. All carpeting was protected from the front door to the work area in the family room. All debris was removed from the job site. This was a big job that took two days to complete. Am following the recommended wait time and break in steps to be taken. It is comforting to know that we have a completely safe fireplace that is up to code. Looking forward on having Doctor Flue perform annual chimney sweeps during the off season. I'm still trying to get my money back from one who did terrible work for me a couple years ago!)   Ken is a top-notch mason.  He went above and beyond to do an excellent job for a very reasonable price.  He was able to work around different challenges that came up, worked well with the other contractors (who were doing the wood portion of the porch), and did it all with a smile.  He paid attention to the smallest details - putting up a temporary mailbox while the porch was inaccessible, cleaning up every bit of debris / trash, dying the mortar because he noticed the existing mortar had a slightly reddish hue.   I will definitely go back to him with any masonry needs. <br />"

"It turned out okay. I wouldn't rate them as great. They did the job but I probably wouldn't recommend them. They came out and gave a lower estimate but I didn't know they were going to use the old brick. The chimney and the bricks were starting to chip. The only thing they replaced was the bricks that were chipped. Another company told me that had a higher estimate, they'll come in and give you a lower estimate but they'll use your same old brick which is what they did. They did replace maybe 8 or 10 bricks out of the whole chimney. When they showed up with their truck, I thought they had a load of bricks. They charged me $50 or $100 for a cheap cap to put on it. I could probably buy one for $30 at Lowe's or Home Depot myself. I said I don't want that, just turn out my old one. It's too late now, we've already bought it. I said, you can't take it back to the store? No. It serves a purpose a guess, but I wouldn't know."

"Craig was very professional from start to finish.  We have a gas fireplace that we haven't used since we purchased our home almost 5 years ago.  We called Craig and made an appointment to come give us and estimate.  He not only gave us an estimate but he gave us a lot of good suggestions on how to make the fireplace look good.  So agreed to have him do the work.  Craig came back after 2 weeks and did the following work.  <br /> 1. He painted the inside of our fireplace black so when the new fireplace doors are installed it will look like a tv screen and it <br />      made  it look darker and nicer. <br /> 2. He removed some of our ceramic logs and replaced them with better ones he had at his shop at no charge.  <br /> 3. He cleaned all the junk stuff that had fallen into our fireplace. <br /> 4. He added new pebbles/fireplace dirt <br /> 5. He rearranged everything that made the fireplace flame look bigger and brighter. <br /> 6. He purchased a door for us that we selected from the brochures he should us at the time he did the estimate.  He installed the <br />     door and showed us how to use it. <br /> 7. He replaced our chimney cap with the new one he purchased for us. <br /> He also some a few issues with my chimney that he mentioned he could fix down the road which we appreciated him telling us.  <br /> From start to finish it was a great experience to deal with Craig.  Would use him again. <br /> <br />"
