Repairs to the chimney liners was done much less expensively than I thought possible without tearing into the brickwork. It seems that the owner treats his workers with respect. "When some workers were on my roof fixing a broken shingle, they noticed that the bricks on my chimney looked like they were crumbling.  I called Thompson's Masonry to get an estimate of repair work.  Bob Thompson came out right away, and recommended a complete chimney rebuild.  He also gave me an estimate for replacing some damaged bricks and tuckpointing and sealing the brickwork on the front of my house, which was in pretty bad shape.  When I spoke to Bob, he agreed to take off $100 if I had both done at the same time, which I really appreciated since they were both fairly big expenses.  (He also offered to honor the estimate for the brickwork on the front next spring if I decided to just do the chimney and wait on the rest, but I decided to go ahead with both).  Bob was great - friendly and professional.  He called me back right away, answered all of my questions, and showed up when he said he would.  He was able to match the bricks and mortar color of the existing brickwork.  He even fixed the tuckpointing on my front steps, which another group had "fixed" (badly) in the spring, so it matched.  Everything looks great.  I would definitely call him again if I need any masonry work done.
